This thread is getting quite long.... So has any Lifted 4x4 Owner backed your claims Jamzwayne, or is my Naive Kid comment correct?

Um....yes and no.

It's about 50/50 here at work. Out of 2 4X4 owners, 1 has agreed it's ok, and the other wants to know what the point is.

I, myself, don't see why it's "WRONG, BAD, STUPID, or whatever" to lift a 2WD truck.

IMO, I dont see the point of lifting a $x$ that never gets dirty.

Well, maybe I did that on purpose?

4x4's are expensive.
$x$ is my way of saying that not everyone can afford a 4X4, but like the look of a lifted truck. Since this person is on a budget, and cant afford to purchase a 4x4, but can afford a 2WD and a lift, would be forced to go that route.

.....*but you're right, it's a typo*......

Lifting a 2wd is way better than lowering a 4wd IMO. Around here, every couple weeks I'll see somebody with a lowered Super Duty. WTF?

This thread rocks!

Oh yeah and I will never own a 2wd. With a V-8, 4wd truck i know I can handle just about any project or problem. To me a 2wd truck is like buying a v-6 mustang. You just half assing it

Flame away boys

Just depends what your needs are. Or if you know how to drive or not

This isnt directed at anyone in particular...but I honestly dont think a lot of people with 4wds know how capable a correctly setup 2wd can be. If you have a 4x4 you either puss out and put it in 4wd before you even get into anything hairy, or else stick it in 4wd the moment you feel a slip or anything.

Hell, a 2wd probably makes you a better offroad driver because you have to be a little more careful and know what the heck your doing (have some brains), instead of some idiot driving a 4x4 who just sticks it in 4 wheel and hits the gas thinking they can do anything since they have a 4x4.
