This is a snall one compared to the others, but one thing that really bothers me is that everybody has to receive a trophy for something---there can only be "winners"---and no losers (gee, that would be bad for one's self esteem---oh well, so much for honesty). You know, a trophy for "best effort", "best sportsmanship", "best whining", etc.

I guess the idea "to honor everybody means to honor no one" doesn't apply anymore. First place, runner's up---and that's that. that is all we need.

The fact that Darwinism doesn't apply to humans.

What irritates me those most has got to be the way people drive. I have never had so many people cut me off, get right up in front of me and do brake checks just to tick me off, etc. I had friend with me yesterday and I was going down my usual route, which is a 30 mph parkway... Like yeah, right... it's more like 45 mph. So I was doing 30 mph, and some sh*thead cuts in front of me with his Acura Vigor and brake checks me, my friend almost crapped his pants as well as the 5 other people behind me.

Also, since I drive stick in all my vehicles, people in automatics think I just "keep going"... so the light turns red, I drop in 1st, I start going, and of course my truck stops "going forward" when I change to 2nd, and so on... and if I watch them out of my rear view, they literally pile in my butt and stomp on their brakes when I change gear. I am still waiting to get rear ended by some freak. Then comes the part when the light turns green and I'm not in gear... and they don't like the 2 second wait time and they lay on their horn.

What also irritates me? The traffic light sequences... Say a car makes a turn, it trips a light when there are no cars on that side of the road and it makes me stop for absolutely nothing. Talk about wasting gas... that's the world's polluters... those traffic lights. Every once in a blue moon I can go down the local parkway and hit all 12 lights. It is a pain in the butt even with an automatic. It is STUPID.... and what makes it worse is that 85% of the time no one needs the light.

I noticed that some of you guys were talking about "friendly driving gestures" like flashing your lights if there is a cop around... or letting people pass your... or let you into a lane, etc. Let me tell you something... I've let people in lanes, I've let pedestrians cross, I've flashed my lights... and you know what? 1 out of 10 people I've flashed knew what I was flashing about. 1 out of 10 people knew why I slowed down to stopped, to say let a pedestrian cross... I bet only a few on here know what different light flashes are that professional drivers use. At least I know them and use them... and make aware of my surroundings... especially when I am driving in a new territory.

It's really pathetic how easy it is to get a drivers license and let some 16 year old kid out on the highway with a 5000 lb steel projectile. When I was 16, I knew how to drive stick, I knew how to parallel park a large truck... and I knew my consequences. 3 out of 10 people know how to drive stick... how to correctly parallel park... it is so sickening. Possibly 1 out of 10 people know how to drive correctly 99% of the time.

This world is sad. It really is.

That's why the world is the way that it is. No matter how lazy a person is or how little effort they put in, they can still expect a reward for the "effort".

Who cares and more to the point why the hell is it considered news?? It's not news, it's sensationalism and it should be saved for rags like National Enquirer and Star Magazine. Keep that crap off the news channels and give us actual news please.

I've got another irritation...

Talking about channels...

What about radio stations!?!? 75% of the time it is commericals! 25% music... and most of the music is played 3 to 4 times a day!!!

I still say Sirius and XM is a rip off... why should you spend money to listen to something that IS FREE?!

What a monopoly... seriously.

What pisses me off about todays society?...EVERYTHING

I'm only 19 years old so I know I dont have as much experience and time under my belt as most of you guys but...Over the past years I've noticed a huge decline in society. Im scared to see what it's going to be like in 10 years. The lack of common courtesy people have today is just unreal. Not only while driving, but while walking down the street. Tonight my friends and I went to see Transformers, we had to leave one theater and go to another because some punk thought it would be cute to pull the fire alarm in the middle of a movie. If I could find out who did it...I'd love to lay an *** whoopin on them. The fact that I can't even run into the gas station to get a pack of gum without having to roll my windows up on my truck to keep my stuff from being stolen while Im inside.

You know times are bad when theres a need for these:

Seriously...its ridiculous. I could go on forever.

That happened to my Dad TWICE!

First time around they stole it because there was just a cotter pin.... the second time around they stole it with one of those locks... they actually hacksawed it off!

Hasn't happened to me yet... but I'm sure it will.

the newer generation of angry self centered young adults, ( not all but enough).
They feel that the world owes them a free ride.

I should probably stay outta this thread

Oh what the hell...

the quality of today's music irritates me
people that blame violent crimes on video games like Grand Theft Auto
everyone and their momma talkin on cell phones while they drive
professional athletes getting paid $5 mil a year
"Paris Hilton back in Jail" is the main story on the news instead of "US Soldier dies while serving our country in Iraq"
gas prices
tree huggers
shopping centers going up all over country towns
smoking bans
the quality of new vehicles
the race card

I hate the sense of entitlement the average American feels today. This as simple as cruising in the fast lane and not noticing traffic piling up behind you or people passing you on the right to people who just graduated college feeling that they have done it all and now should be in charge. Or, trying to get your meal for free, because the restaurant messed up one small aspect of your meal.

I hate that people feel smarter or more skilled than previous generations. Frankly our tools are much better. Labor during the industrial revolution as a hole was much more skilled. Lots of us are lost without our computerized tools.

I hate that lots of Americans no longer see the promise that their country holds. It’s funny that people from third world countries can become financially middle class quickly while born Americans languish in poverty for generations. I’m sure that the third worlders face predgice and unfair practices, but they stick together as a family and are able to get ahead without blaming society for their failings.

I hate the priority on celebrity or athletics. People are pissed off when the find out a doctor makes $200+/year but don’t blink an eye when an athlete makes 5million+. What’s important to you?

I hate that people society sees tattoos and piercing as a way of expressing their individuality. I see them as badges of conformity. Today you are much more unique if you’re not inked up.
