Theres no way in hell. Your speedo is off. Not a chance in hell and i just called brewdude to confirm it. It takes a lot more than a 350 and a 3 blade prop to get much over 60...let alone 70.
Our 22'6 crownline with Volvo Penta 5.7 GI with a Stainless Steel dual prop at 19 degrees runs about at top with wind to our back and calm lake MAYBE 55 according to the speedo. The only way to have it checked accurate is a GPS...
Still no way anyone with that sized boat will do over 60. And i know a lot of people that have boats that size. (i dont even care if it was a Bravo 3)
Jesus.
I'll get a video of the hand held GPS reading 68 mph and the boat speedometer reading 72 mph once I get the trailer fixed. It's going to be a little slower since our SS prop got stolen and we now have a steel beater on there. I'll even get a video of that. Geez.

He didnt want to get beat!
he felt the power of mine when it was out of time, even stalling on launches and backfiring through the carb at 3800 rpm and wouldn;t get past 3800 rpm. This time it was dialed in, would power through to 4800 rpm with out hesitation and was scary fast.
He could have just handed me $20, would have been so much cheaper on both of us and if I would have accepted, I would have used it to buy us all lunch anyway!
I am having a hard time believing that you can run 72 on a stock 350. How many RPMs are you turning and what pitch prop? I took a quick look and the gear case ratios on the Alpha II are between 1.4-2.0. With 1.4 gears, a 22p prop and no prop slip you would be running nearly 5000RPMs if the engine could pull the boat. The same combination with 10% slip (still a little low) puts your RPMs up to 5400. I have a feeling that with that combo you would not have a hole shot and forget about pulling a skier. Sorry man your numbers just don't add up.
