Dogs don't like fireworks!!

Probably all animals in general but I can only vouch for my dog. I'm right on the beach where all the big fireworks displays are and my dog was freakin out. I took her out to for her nightly business, and she went to closest patch of grass and ran back between my legs back inside the second she was done. I haven't seen her move this quick in years, but at least the fireworks were a great success. Anybody else have their animals turn into cowards tonight?

P.S. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!!!!!!!!

All of my dogs have been afraid of fireworks. Some more than others. My oldest one is skiddish anyways, loud noises don't help.

Big Dog, No Backbone

Hello, This is a great day to talk about this.. I have a Great Prynese (sp) Big White Dog... She is now a little over 2 and still gets scared at thunder, but damn this year is really bad with the fireworks.. She shakes.. man who would have thought such a big dog would scare so easy.. good thing it started pooring... But I know people around here will shoot them off all week.. we had a big party last weekend, she managed, but its gonna be a long week... Have a safe 4th...

My cat took off and hid somewhere as soon as I started lighting fireworks. She does that for pretty much any kind of loud noise, though.

My best friend Taters and I hunt together. What a joy this golden has been for me. On the Fourth of July, I put ear muffs on her head. I wish I had a picture. Tonight she looks so goofy. She thinks it is a game. She is now muzzleing me, and saying "daddy let's go play". The fire works are now starting. TATERS is scared poopless. But I will take her outside, and her and my wonderful wife will watch the fireworks. Taters will still hear some of it under the muffle of the head and ear gear. But at least it will not hurt her ears. She just loves being with us!

My brother's Lab LOVES fireworks and 2 out of the 3 Labs my parents have love fireworks as well.
Their chocolate Lab hates loud noises though, she normally goes and hides under the bed this time of year.

I had a hard time keeping from tripping over my mom's c0ckerspaniel all night. He wanted to help me light them but didn't understand the concept of getting away once it's lit.

Yep he's not gun shy at all. He tried to chase them.

We went to watch the big fireworks show and Casey stayed home, she would have freaked...because of the loud noise...because of all the people and because of the vehicle ride!! Harley went with us and hid on the passenger floorboards of the Samurai through the show!

Maggie did pretty well. She barked some at the really loud ones. Then when walking, some kids set some off in the road near us, that scared her. A couple of bootle rockets that went crazy and some whizzer thing all at once. Got my attention ,too. They were only about 10 yards away.

I used to run from the vaccum cleaner, but at my age, I just raise my feet.
