Got some pix of the new house...

The wifey finally got me some digital pix... Everything is pretty much on her laptop right now...

We originally wanted to build a log cabin, but decided to just kinda go for the cabin look... Going kind rustic on the fixtures, siding is cedar, interior is still a work in progress... Doors are steel, and hopefully I'll get them painted dark brown to match windows/garage doors this weekend... Then gotta seal the cedar.

Here's the front. Wife is really itching to start landscaping... and I'm really itching to just get the inside done...

The front... You can kinda see part of the front from the road

The back...

The backyard...

That guy STILL has his Ram parked in your backyard? I'd blow it up.

Nice house.

Looks like a nice little first place!

God have mercy on the poor bastard who has to paint/seal the siding on the backside of that thing -- hope he's not afraid of heights!

How about some pics of the inside?

Yep, just a 2 car for now... That's where the Camino and Belvedere will be parked until a new project comes along, then the Camino will have to move outside. We plan on building a shop in the not too distant future, and the garage will become parking for the daily drivers only...

And as far as the front/back thing... We wanted the front to look small and cabin like. We don't care to advertise our house, unlike our nearest neighbor... We also went kinda small on the porch, because we couldn't decide what we wanted. We're thinking about a porch that runs the full length of the front someday, but who knows...

and I have decided to be the poor bastard who has to seal that thing. I checked on boom trucks today, and it sounds like the other side of the house may be too steep to use one. So, probably just gonna spray from a ladder. Cheaper, and when done I have a ladder that I can use for other things...

Inside is of course still under construction, but I'll try to post up some pix... The front of the house faces east... So, on the north side of the main floor is the living room/kitchen/dining area with a vaulted ceiling, 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. Upstairs (on the south end) is the master bed/bath and my office. In the basement is the garage, laundry/utility/bathroom, and an unfinished game room/storage...

The black on the basement walls is plastic. I'll be painting that brown for now, and rocking it probably next spring sometime...

I'm digging the simplistic look. Looks great! Some people like curb appeal with many roofs and bump outs, I subscribe to the "less is more" theory when it comes to the looks on a house. Well done.

The house is definitely deceiving from the front. I agree, less is more. Once you landscape the front, it's going to be one pretty home!

No doubt!
A full length porch in the front will be the perfect look for that home

Nice place!

When your looking at ladders I would suggest flip the coin for the Little Giant.
My dad has one and ever since I borrowed it, I wont climb up on anything else. Unless maybe if forced to at gun point.

Nice Closer....real nice. Congrats.

I like the way you have it setup. It looks like a lil cottage from the front, but that bad boy has some sq footage. I like it ALOT...and the backyard.

I want a backyard like that too. Good job.
