I understand he was trying to be funny, but not everything is meant to be made fun of. Maybe if he ever has kids or gets sent overseas for the military he'd have a clue.

I agree with you 100%

I've learned to read past most of the crude, and inconsiderate post I see on this forum everyday. It's just not worth the stress.

All I can do is shake my head in disbelief, and move on.

As do I Jamz. There was another post where I thought D was out of line and I just bit my forum tongue and looked the other way. I guess this one just got to me. For the most part I think D is a riot.

I know I push it sometimes, but I must stick to my equal opportunity abuser policy.

I had to make a sarcastic remark since I despise how the media portrays certain things. In my eyes, they picked this one kid for a story and make it sound like the feel-good moment of the year. Puh-leaze. Each and every time a vet returns home safe and sound there are plenty of kids, wives, etc... teary eyed and get zero coverage, thanks, etc... I simply fail to see why this punk kid is any different and why people fall all over it.

D,

You are probably right about the media and maybe even his parents exploiting the kids feelings for a story.

However, the kids feelings were legitimate and heartfelt. The story really hit me, imagining my kids if I was over there. Sometimes the personal effects of this war are lost when all you hear are people shouting "The war is great" and "the war sucks".

I get the sarcastic remark and it never bothered me. Heck I half expected it. Very few of these videos get to me, this one just did.
