I don't know how much you all know about the contest for which Springfield will host the premier of The Simpsons Movie.

i voted for illinois because of how many references they make to it in the show.

 

I voted missouri, just because we could use the added publicity and revenue.

 

In the episode, Behind the Laughter, the narrator referred to them as a "Northern Kentuck Family." No need to cast a vote, the question has already been answered.

Yes. Well that is in dispute.

I've been here all my life and from what I've seen, this is the Springfield that The Simpsons takes place in. Perhaps the names have changed to protect the "innocent" but if you look, you will see.

 

Funny, I did not even read the article.

I've seen the episode about 20 times and it has always been Kentucky. Very clever on the part of the writers.

BTW, big Simpsons fan...I have a personalized and autographed sketch of Homer from one of the animators...many thanks to my brother in law for the connection.

 

To my knowledge, Springfield Mo does not have a nuclear power plant.
I belive that they use Hydro power and buy additional power from an outsource, although a bill was passed last year to build a new coal firing power plant and a section of land has been annexed. But it has not been built yet.

 

Springfield Mo also does not have a state penitentiary either.....

 

I have alway thought it was Springfield, IL. it does tend to lead toward that so thats what i voted for.
It definitely ain't the 3 on the east coast.
