I know your just joking, but needs to be said incase a young gun owner happens to see this thread.

Even with a spare clip, I don't wont to have to use it, so I'm not going to be insulting anyone or group or doing anything that might cause me to use it needlessly. The right to carry is not a right to start trouble. If it's your fault and you casued it, you get charged with murder.

Not to mention that 7th, 8th, 9th guy isn't going to wait 2.5 second for you to reload before he grabs your gun. Hopefully they will spread out and maybe you will have room to head for cover too, but neither of those are a guarntee. The goal is to stay alive, not have your gun taken from you and be shot with it.

That's aso assuming non of them have a gun too.

One or more of them may lunge for your gun out of reaction as soon as you squeeze the first round. Also that would be assuming that everyone drops imediatly with one shot. That only happens in the movies. It is more likely that you will have to dump the entire clip into one guy to keep him from getting to you. Defintlay squeze until they stop moving or you run out, you dont want ot risk them getting your gun with a round in it to use on you.

Like I said I know we are joking, but don't want some young person thinking they are Dirty Harry and thinking that a gun will get them out of anything.
Absolutely right about all of that, especially the last point!

And also one of the reasons I've never been too enamored with hi-cap handguns. I've always thought that they promote a "spray & pray" mindset, rather than learning to hit the first time with aimed fire. If you're in a situation where you would possibly need 14-17 rounds then you'd best be served by advancing to the rear...
If you can't hit your target in a meaningful way with the first couple of rounds then you're in trouble anyhow.

As a side note, here's an example of how the anti-gun folks are just completely clueless:

About 12 or 15 years ago some deranged nutjob in Israel went into a temple and began firing with an M16. I don't recall exactly how many he killed, 15 - 20 I think, before someone shot him down. Anyway, there was a report put out by the NY Times in the days that followed in which the "reporter" said this :
"(whatever his name was) used a technique only taught to elite Special Forces - aimed fire."

What are these clips you speak of??

I only use clips to reload my M1 and sometimes magazines, but never carry them for field use

Clip

Magazine

You know what.... I learn something new everyday.
I have been shooting since I have been walking and have won many various competitions from small rifle sharpshoots to turkey shoots to trap shoots. I may have handeld one or two rifles and shot guns over teh years....
Yet I never knew that there was actually a technical difference between a clip and mag. I just assumed that clip was generic slang for Magazine.

Proabbly to hard of a habit for me to break now, hard to teach us old dogs new tricks but now I know.

Am I getting anything wrong with these two choices?
I cant seem to find any prices on them though. Do yall have any ideas as to how much I am looking at?

Thanks to everyone

No better time to make my first post here I guess.

I have a Glock 19(Homeland Defender model, came with 4 magazines, TAC light, Night Sights, and mag loader) I bought about 2 months ago. and have passed about 1100 rounds through. Its my first handgun and I love it. Ive had 0 issues with it, is incredibly accurate, Very easy to use, and rediculously easy to clean. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it. The only drawback to be considered, which is a debatable one, is the lack of a traditional safety.

I think my next handgun, other then a concealed carry small handgun, will probably be a Springfield XD .45.
