people in Oklahoma cant drive
I just got back from stayin with some of my buddies up in Edmon Oklahoma and as soon as I got off the bridge I noticed that okies cannot drive. Apparently they do not understand the concept of going the speed limit or the fast lane. When i got to edmon i told my buddies and they remarked "people in Oklahoma drive great its you texas boys that drive crazy and weave in and out of traffic" and i said well yea but atleast we get goin and get there this shiat is ridiculous. Anyone else not from OK notice how chitty people drive there?
When I went through and back on trip to Texas, Okie was fine for me. It was the Texas Guys that slowed me up until they pulled over to let me by and that freaked me out the first few times until my buddy explained it to me. I found I was the one passing and weaving in Texas. Atleast until I got pulled over.... I thought they were slow with super low speed limits. Most my drive while there was on 2 lane though, it's been along time since I've seen a 55 mph Speed Limit sign.

You think it's bad there? You've got to visit Massachusetts. I believe we've got THE WORST drivers in the country.
I think the "law makers" must have changed the lane rules because for some reason everyone treats the passing lane like the travel lane. As a result I have to use the right most lane to pass.
People seem to be overly cautious, when I'm driving behind them and in a hurry. The are always going at least five mph under the posted speed limit. Then I go home and people are going down my street, past my house, at more than twenty mph over the posted thirty mph limit.
You know something? It seems that anywhere I go, there are bad drivers. Maybe it's just me?

I noticed a few years ago that anyone driving slower than me is an idiot and anyone driving faster than me is a maniac. Funny how that works. Why can't everyoe just keep my pace?

Amen!! Then when I get pulled over for 85 in a 55 I can pull that "going with the flow of traffic" BS on the cop
I have yet to be cruising by myself and get passed though
All two lane roads around here and I spend more time in the left lane with the oncoming traffic than the local drunk
I do believe it is South Dakota that hold the shatty driver award.
Within 30 minutes I met a man going the wrong way down a SPLIT 4 lane highway, and then saw some dipshlit trying to pass someone on a 2 lane highway going up a hill. Semi coming, quick manuvers, lots of brake lights...good show from a couple cars back.
I've been all over the country and in my opinion, the worst drivers are in Boston, with NYC a close second. The farther west you go, and the more rural you get, the better the drivers are.
I'm amazed how many people do not use or have cruise control. When I'm out on the Interstate and traffic permits, I always use it. It's incredible how many people do not maintain a steady speed. There's nothing more annoying than playing "pass me" constantly with someone - they pass me then slow down and I pass them, ad infinitum - but I never come off cruise. If I'm not driving as fast as you want to drive, fine - PASS ME and keep going, don't slow down and give me a hard time. I guarantee you my cruise is set for at LEAST the speed limit, almost always 5 to 10 over........and I try to stay in the right lane when possible.

I can honestly say....from my experience...California people are WAYYYYYYY worse than us Texans. Boston/NY - I cant say..never been there.
I lived in So Cal from 1994 - 1998 and it felt good to leave. I dont even want to visit.

Defensive driving is no fun.
Get away from the cities and Cal drivers are quite decent.
jiggle - what's really annoying is this scenario........I'm locked at 72 in say, a 65 - right lane. Someone passes me and pulls back into the right lane. No problem, that's how you are supposed to do it. Then the clown slows down below 72. I leave it on cruise and pass them. Back into the right lane. I come up on someone else in the right lane going slow. No problem, get in the left lane and start to pass. Look in the mirror and who is right on my bumper? The clown who was playing tag with me before. I take great pleasure in staying in the left lane after the pass till said clown starts to pass me on the right - at which point I stomp it, flip on the blinker and move right, then let the cruise take back over.

Just let go of the steering wheel slightly and mover your hands like you're swerving at them, but don't touch the steering wheel. Gets 'em every time.
