Gadget Guru's (iPhone)

Who's buying one tomorrow (June 29th) when they come out?

I still have a year left with my Treo650, and I think the wife and I will upgrade to a BlackBerry at that time. Especially if the monthly rate plans are reasonable (I worry since it's "Always on".

I would try to wrestle one out of my director- but, since I'm not on call anymore- I figure it's not a favorable position for which to get rid of this archaic Motorola TimePort (boat anchor) big-****, two-way pager.

I thought it was cool when I got it, but- thatwas 4 years ago. SOB still works.

For 600 bucks you don't get... (from gizmondo)

• Songs as Ringtones
• Games
• Any flash support
• Instant Messaging (aim/gtalk/yahoo/msn)
• Picture messages (MMS)
• Video recording
• Voice recognition or voice dialing
• Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Streaming (A2DP)
• One-size-fits-all headset jack (May have to buy an adapter for certain headphones)

Stuff we already knew it didn't have
• 3G (EV-DO/HSDPA)
• GPS
• A real keyboard
• Removable battery
• Expandable Storage
• Direct iTunes Music Store Access (Over Wi-Fi or EDGE)

Sounds like a helluva product! My 80 dollar moto Q has all that stuff cept GPS, wi-fi, and stereo bluetooth. Oh and it goes on EVDO.

I'll check it out for giggles... but I doubt I'll leave my trusty BB for a device with no apps or worthwhile e-mail support.
