Tailgate max weight - loading harley

Anyone have experience or know if it is safe to load a 600lbs motorcycle by driving (walking w/ thottle assist) a 600lbs+ motorcycle up a ramp (me on second ramp) into the bed of a 2007 F150? I would guess we are talking about 850 lbs total on the tailgate while loading.

Well, only one tire will be on the tailgate at a time. By the time the rear makes it up the ramp, the front will be safely in the bed.

So you are talking only 300+- lbs on the tail gate. I think you will be fine.

A buddy and I loaded his 78 pan head Sportster by hand when it broke down and needed ot get it home, in the back of my S10. We dead lifted the bike and sat it on the tailgate sideways then got up and rotated it. Not sure how much it weighs but it was pretty dang heavy that day let me tell you!
Bike plus him, he was probably 250+ lbs plus me was about 145 lbs at the time. So 395 lbs of us and what ever the bike weighed were all on the tailgate of it at one time.

You can always add some safety chains, that seems to make it eleventy kabillion times stronger.

Don't forget the wooden 4x4 underneath.

It works.

As stated above, don't forget the board on the tail-gate or you risk a nice dent.

Yes. You can put a lot of weight on a tailgate...

It'll hold an entire pallet of sod. Not sure about fat women. Ask Justin, I'm sure he'd know.
