Help/opinions finding smoke detectors & doorbell
Well, I'm finally working on the electrical of our house. I got most of the recep and switch boxes set over the weekend, and reworked the circuit layout, so I'm happy with that now. Now its just drilling holes, and pulling wire...
But I'm trying to find a direct wire smoke detector with wireless communication. I haven't looked around online, and I'm not even sure what brands are considered reliable, so I'm looking for suggestions. I want detectors that are 120v with battery backup, and will communicate wirelessly. So, if one in the basement goes off the one in my bedroom will too...
I'm also looking for a good wired door bell with two tone chime, but I want a good sounding chime. Something that actually sounds like a bell, not a poorly synthesized bell... and I don't need the full Westminster ballad, and no Dixie,etc... however, cool that may be...

I definatly dont do this everyday so wouldn't have the first clue.
I'd go to lowes and just look around. They should have most all thier doorbells set out so you can try them and hear what they sound like.

BTW, Lowe's had 120v OR wireless, but not both in the same unit, at least at our local store. Haven't tried online yet. Guess I should do that... but still not sure if what they carry is considered reliable... ?
