Not me. 500 bones! No way. Besides, Cingular (AT&T) sucks in my area.

$500 for a phone is way outta whack, but considering all the other gadgets it could render unnecessary for the user, it may not be a bad deal, however, how much is the data package gonna run you for one of these???

I thought about getting one but a lady I spoke with at Cingular said you have to obtain a 2-year contract extension while doing so. I usually sign 1-year contracts because I wear phones after about a year. It seems they are trying to gain a bigger market share because they purchased the iPhone solely for 5 years. They will only gain more power over the customers and in return $h&* on them. In Europe, new phones and technology are forced out quicker because they have less contracts and also have a better service as a result. I do NOT want to sign a deal with the devil.

I may have a look at them, but will most likely keep the Blackberry.

Yes, but you've got to realize that phones are being marketed like toys, to children.

I don't get it. When did a phone become a toy? How did we survive for so long with out the ability to call someone on a whim, or talk to somone while we're driving, walking, shopping, on the toilet, ect, ect.

I can see, for grown up, for business, that many of the features of these new fangled phones can come in handy. I use a few on mine. But they aren't being marketed that way. Nope, they are toys.

I'm seriously considering it only because the company I worked for offered to pay for it. It is a great concept and will certainly be great for business and fun. I'll let you guys know...

I'll check it out, but the horrible way it handles e-mails (like the lame-o Palm phones, Windoze phones, etc...) will be a deal breaker. If I used my phone as a toy and not a communications device I'd get one. You can't beat the Blackberry baby!!!

Nope! The BB's use a dedicated server that polls your e-mail accounts and then pushes it to the device. Or, e-mail sent directly to your blackberry address are sent directly to the phone, no pesky pop/imap server to get in the way. The BB Enterprise server also immediately pushes and syncs all calendar info, tasks, notes, and whatever else you have in your MS Outlook, Lotus Notes, Groupwise, or whatever system your company has.
