I bought a Dell laptop last month, and was given a choice of either XP, XP Pro or Vista. The laptop was the same price whether it was configured with XP Pro or Vista.

The company I work for is an HP reseller. The majority of HP laptops say Compaq on them. HP bought out Compaq years ago, I don't know why they continue to use that name. I have an HP laptop and it has an HP logo on it but on the upper corner of the screen it says 'Compaq nx9420'.

The bugs will never be worked out, they are still issuing service packs and updates for XP to this day.

That's ludicrous. Vista rocks. Bugs shmugs. If your getting a new PC, get Vista. I wouldn't upgrade an old PC due to performance. Otherwise, Vista is where its at baby.
