Nine Firefighters Die

As you all know, nine brave firefighters perished two nights ago in Charleston, SC. What many people do not know, is that being a firefighter is actually more dangerous than being a policeman; more firefighters die in the line of duty each year than do policemen.

Please, take a moment and pray for their families, their fellow firefighters, and their friends. We normally never say "thank you" to those who protect us until it is too late.

God bless you nine---and may you rest in His arms.

Tim C.

One of those lines of work that are more thankless than one might think. Thanks for the reminder. Putting your life on the line day in and out for strangers isnt for us all, but should be apprechiated and remebered by all.

Got a son that's a Milwaukee firefighter - definitely makes a man proud and a little scared. He likes being in the action, works one of the worst neighborhoods.

Bless them all, the ones that died and the ones that are still with us.

Seven men on duty at the station roared out on board Engines 16 and 19 Monday night to battle a furniture-store fire.

“One on No. 16 came back,” Jones said. “Nobody from 19 came back.”

It was the worst thing that could happen to a fire house, losing almost an entire crew in one blaze.
Very sad.

It was definitely a scary site. I could here the sirens go by for hours. I was stuck at a friend's home in West Ashley and it was the biggest plume of smoke I've ever seen. Sad indeed

I know that this strickes a nerve in all emergency responders wondering when the Final Call will be. I know that as chief of my volunteer fire dept., whenever we are out on a job I want to make sure that everyone returns safely. My prayers are with the families, friends and the Brothers that have lost these nine heros.

R.I.P.
