The sound quality is **** poor, and the vocalist sucks... kinda neat beat and lyrical concepts though, I guess. Although I didn't think it was that original (lyrically).

Sorry, that crap isn't 1337.

Meh. It's ok. I'd listen to it. I just couldn't see myself rocking out to that at a very high volume in the truck or in the boat.

Naw it's definatly easy listening. Mid volume, 50-75 db, brings it in nice and clear.

eh, whatever floats your boat. Definitly something I wouldn't listen too.

Music is something everyone has different tastes for. I don't think one kind is better than another. Just certain types vibe with me and others do not. It has nothing to do with music being more elite, or requiring a certain class of people to enjoy. I can rock out to metallica or enjoy some light classical depending on my mood. True musical taste, IMHO is that which spans more than one genre. Claiming that which is posted is better than what I would listen to on a daily basis is a silly argument, because I could find someone who wouldn't like either.

Sounded beautiful, but then I'm a sensitive male.
Has what I would call a marching band beat. I liked the raw quality to it. That's what it sounds like in a live situation. I found the song to have structure like most songs, just a little different. The drop-out of the rhythm only reminds me of a House record. Nothing new there. It's just a unique combination of preexisting elements.

Irish folk music + Mexican Mariachi... hmmmm, nope, doesn't do it for me. I'd expect a band called Beirut to friggin' shred, but no. And this from someone who likes everything Yes has ever put out.. lol..

I only recently got turned on to Dream Theater, excellent stuff! And if you want serious garage band rock, Wolfmother.

I'd like to point out that the beruit clip is completely natural sounds. All the sounds are real, with real musicians that know how to play the real verisions of the instruments, real singer with out the electronic assistance of a sound board. No electronics or keys, even the higher synth sounds are natural. The only electronics are a microphone plugged into a DAT recorder, bare essentials to capture them. We have grown so use to the hiss, distortion and compression of amps and boards, fake reverb and adjusted tone using electronic and e-instuments that when we hear the real thing the common listener tends to think it's poor quality.

That is where the elite comes in. Only a select few can hear the sounds and appreciate it.

You are among the music connoisseur elite!

ETA:
Not because he liked the style, the style is really second or third to the total experince of music.

Although, even though Jack Black was being funny there was some truth, just a little mis guided truth in order to make it funny.
