Program to design an addition to my house?

Looking to build an addition to my house, maybe 24X24. Does anyone know of a program out there (preferably low cost or free) that I would want to use, or should I see a pro?

It's Free

I am not experinced in 3d design at all and I did these in less than an hour while planning to remodel our bedroom..

To scale and very easy to use.

I've been using AutoCAD since '89. Anything else is like drawing on a bar napkin. But, then, AutoCAD is a pretty penny.

I think you forgot one important thing that goes with bathrooms, the door. How else can the man's throne be his throne if he can't lock out the queen?

Trust me, everyone goes to the other end of the house and opens windows, or they vacate the house when I'm on the throne, even with doors shut and over sized fart fan.
No worries about the queen or princesses invading my ruling chambers!

I have a question about CAD.

Is it a tough program to get used to?

I'm thinking about getting into draft and surveying, and that is something I will need to learn.

AutoCAD vs Pro/e et all is like Lexus vs Kia, BMW vs Yugo, F-150 vs Tundra... you get the point...

AutoCAD is very intuitive, very easy to "self teach". Get the LT version if you don't need any modeling capabilities.
