Bed Bounce Video
i like chevies, but dont get me wrong, they are only second to fords in my oppinion. the only thing i hate about the nbs gm trucks is how low the valence is compared to the rest of the body. i know they had to do it cause of some highway regulations (or something like that), but it just looks tacky and looks like it would catch on something while offroading.
I bet if you aired up the tires of the Ford nice and hard, you could get that bad boy to dance real nice. There are ways to skew any test in a way to favor your product. I'm not saying that the test was rigged; but, how much can you trust Ford (or any other manufacturer) to honestly compare it's product to the competition?
The whole darn video is rigged. Obvisually in Ford's favor. I bleed ford blue, but don't be fooled guys.
Anyone ever see that Nissan Titan commercial video out around Super Bowl time? It shows the titan driving through a rough, construction site. The cameria man is riding on the back of another vehicle with the titan following.
Anyways, the entire front bumper was shaking all to crap. I pointed it out to everybody each time it came on TV. I tried t find it online but couldnt.

god dam all of you.
you all say you bleed blue, but everytime something like this comes up you are so quick to shoot it down and accuse ford for BSing, cant we enjoy our glory while we have it? or is that not allowed..

Your going to be more critical of anything you are proad of.
If youre not fond of it, you won't care and won't nit pick. Youd probaly wewatch the video once, and 1/2 pay attention.
I watched it 5 times and will likely watch it a few more.
I dont bleed ford blue and never claimed to, I'm a car fanatic. There are things about all of them I like, and I dont like things about all of them. So I dont care who wins or who loses, all I want to know is how.

There ya go! I'm happy with my ford right now. I don't much care for the other trucks.

I guess the thing that has me the most puzzled, is the harping on of Ford's (And Nissan's) fully boxed frame- as if that's a really big deal...
I mean, think about it- if it were such a big deal, and made such a HUGE difference, you'd think Ford would have a fully boxed frame on the all new 2008 Ford F-250/350/450. THEY DON'T.
It's a "C" frame. Actually, it's a blended frame, 2-frame types, as opposed to the three on the Tundra- but- still a blend. Fully boxed out front, C-channel for the rest. If a "C" channel is good enough for the SUPER DUTIES, it's got to be good enough for anything LESS than a Superduty.
IE: F-150, Silverado 1500, Ram 1500, Tundra, Titan, etc...
So, does fully boxed really matter? What's the argument? What's the real truth?
Fishy? I think so... So, this pic matches the expression on my face as well.

The super duties also have a vast array of stuff that can replace the bed, utility boxes, flatbeds... They said in the video on frame flex that the C channel is easier to attach stuff to and that is probably why it is still widely used on heavier duty trucks. The heavier duty ones also don't have to go thru official crash tests. Given that the new F-150 aces the crash test and the compition does not I would say that Ford is doing something right in that department. When offroading I have seen more than a half of inch of difference between the bed and cab on both my '02 F-150 and '85 Ranger, both have the C channel frame. My dad's '80 F-350 actually has dents in the back of the cab from the bed hitting it at some point (before we got it), again with the C channel frame.

What do you mean does it matter?
If you are asking if a truck will funtion with out it, then yes, yes it will.
If you asking for the pros and cons there are many of each
about the fully boxed frame.
i remember reading that the super duties didnt need it.
its more for the half ton f150s, and that a C is better for the super duties, the 1/2 ton needs the safety etc etc when the super duties arent as concerned about safety as they arent the average family vehicle. and again as the other guy said about things being swapped out on a super duty frame.
