Transformers-

Transformers:

OK, a pretty nice smattering of us on this page are kids and teens of the 1980's.
Many of us also receive a reinforcing dose of this, watching TV with our kids (I just watched a 2-hour Power Ranger Marathon with my 3-year old).

But, July 4, 2007- I'll be watchign this movie, as much for me- as I am for him...

Transformers:

While Optimus still looks like Optimus.

What in d'hell has happened to my favorite bad-guy, Megatron?

While Meg's was always evil, sinister, and devious- His new body says it all, without opening his mouth.

Where's the Big Gun / AKA- Fusion Cannon?
Megatron, just ain't Megatron without a gun bigger than half his body...

While some change is expected- even good... This can't be good...

I know hollywood is going to have their way with this, but I still REALLY want to see this movie.

My wife and I haven't been to a theater in well over a year, but she mentioned seeing this in the theater the other day, and I quickly agreed...

I was, however, disappointed in how cheap/cheesy the new toys are. They haven't put out a good transformer toy in many years...

Yes, I like toys. I have several toy cars (or diecasts as my JL collecting buddy calls them), even 3 little Lego cars on my desk...

A local radio DJ from the major country music station here in Denver did the voice for the toy commercials.

Megatron was the man. He would whip on that crybaby Starscream. The only gun I knew of that was bigger than Megatron was Shockwave. The big purple canon who stayed on Cybertron.

I hope they don't screw up the movie.

I bet it will be entertaining, but they will probably offend all the die hard fans out there that want the movie to almost replicate the show. From the picture above i think they already exagerrated Megatron.

I assume you are referring to the Camaro? I thought it was slated for an 09 release?

Well Bumblebee is already not a VW bug and Optimus ain't a western star (I think that is what he appears to be).

Dinobots were cool.

Grimlock was my favorite but what kid didn't love a T-Rex?

oh and Jazz was the white porsche

I've seen a few previews... Someone is a Solstice...

I've also heard it's like 6 Deceipticons vs 3-4 Autobots. (Who knows?)

And, Optimus is supposed not a Cab-Over Peterbilt anymore, but the kind with the long nose (Kenworth/Peterbilt)

I just bought my son the Optimus Prime toy from Target. He's already lost the fist (flies off), and he doesn't "transform" so he stays in robot mode.

Pretty nice size, more than a foot tall.

It's a shame the way I made Buzz Lightyear, kick Optimus' butt!

Proof you can't believe what you hear though... I'd been told Megatron was an M1 -Abrams.

Sweet, but- the gun wouldda still been too small.

You sick man...Buzz taking down Optimus.

Now I did have He-Man take on Optimus one time. He-Man won but Omega Supreme came in afterwards and stomped He-Man back into Prince Adam.
