No more Ranger?

I still see it driving around, so I guess it's held up well. It's looking a little beat lately, but still ok.
I'd drive a Ranger today, if I thought it could get out of it's own way.

Id take a 4-banger Ranger over one with a 3.0L V6 though.
Those sales numbers are interesting. The Ranger is actually doing a lot better than I expected. Its nice to see the Ranger still kicking GM's and Dodge's butts in the small truck market.

I love how the GM crap that was redesigned in 2004 can't beat the ranger sales from a design from 1993. The new canyons and colorados have the technology of 1984... total crap. And super ugly besides.
My sister has a 96 Splash with a lift kit and big tires - and a 3.0 auto. The poor thing won't get out of its own way but it's been the most reliable vehicle she has owned in many years. She also has a Flowmaster on it and the drone is enough to drive me nuts.
I was actually looking for a Ranger and wound up finding this F-150 - I'm glad I bought the 150. All the used Rangers I saw out there were either overpriced, beat to crap, or had 4 cylinder automatics. I was looking for an extended cab Ranger with (preferably) a 4.0 and a stick - those are NOT easy to find used in a major metro area.

Well, what 4.0 are you talking about? I'm referring to the NEW engine that came out with the 01 Rangers... came mated to a 5spd Auto.... A friend of mine had an Expy with the 4.0 and stick, I ALWAYS smoked her.

The SOHC 4.0L has all the torque of the pushrod version, but has about 50 more hp. Thats the advantage of overhead cams though.

I loved that engine...
