Bats have such cute little faces, most of them anyhow. My husband wants to build a bat house so they can roost close to the house, help keep down the mosquito population.

We found one a few years ago. It was sleeping or something so it was easy to catch and let go outside. Last year I took our chimney down. It ran right up the center of the house. I didn't patch the hole going up to the attic. I had a bunch of fiberglass insulation that I thought would keep anything out.
One day I'm sitting on the coutch, watching TV and I see something out of the corner of my eye. It scared the bejesus out of me. I was freaked out. Then after a while, I realized that I'm much larger than this little bat. So I just caught it in my hands.
About a month later I'm at my friends having beers and my girl calls me. She's freaked out. She laughed when I told her about the bat that freaked me out. She wasn't laughing now, with the one that was flying around her. She came and picked me up so I could get this one too. It was easier this time because I wasn't intimidated by this little thing.
It is pretty weird to have a bat flying around in your house.
Yeah we used to have a chimney that didn't get used so they were probably coming in there. We took it out and sealed the hole last year though. Our house was built in like 1890 or something like that so it is falling apart and there are lots of holes they can get in.
