This is my first ski so I'm not an experinceed expert, but thats what most of the experinced riders choose. So I'm guess thier is an advtage of some kind. I'm just not sure what.
With 1000 posts over there I thought you were an expet :P Well I have a thread over there asking so we will see. I have little fear, so I want to go all out in freestlye and try a backflip after I get my engine running stong enough.
1000 questions doesn't make an expert.
I havent even broke 100 there, I just joined about a month ago.
You've got more confidence then me.
I can barely trun and stay up.
I do do bulldogs, torpedos and I cant remeber the name of it but best way to describe it is "Ghost rideing the whip" only in this version the whip is going 35 mph.
Bascially you get up on plane, then just step off the ski and barefoot ski beside it.
The torpedo is more fun than flashy.
You start your ski, hug the hull and climp on top of it until you are veticle.
Thats the hardest part of it, is to keep it from rolling over and dumping you.
Then raise your foot up and bump the throttle with your foot and jump off the handel bars.
It will launch you several feet in the air and out in the water.
Some guys grip the nose and just let it give them a back flip so they can climb back on with out swimming for it.
I'm hoping to try a barrel roll this year, but I dont know.

Just remember, that it may seem light weight, carrying it, and in the water it feels like you can just whip it around any where. But once in the air, if you come off and it comes down on top of you it.... that is still 400lbs of fiberglass and metal, it will bust you up.

Oh ya, I will have a helmet etc but right now barrell rolls are out of the question due to the weight and lack of power from a 650sx. So I will build this ski up keep it learn on it and then next summer purchase a SJ
I need to get a helmet too before I go lifting it out of the water.
I just talked to grezzmky, (from over there) on the phone and he is going to let me try his 650 tomarrow. He said it's probably a better beginer ski. I'll let you know my experince with the two when I get back.
My not so stock 433 has more than enough torque to do a barrel roll. If I can just stay on it through the turn.
It has the quick steer plate and performance nozzel, so you barely turn the handel bars and it shoots off in that direction. It's extremely easy to over correct on it. Next thing you know you have lost control and you just gota bail. An experinced rider wouldn't have any problem. I just bought more ski than I need, but I will learn!!!
