Jamz!

[ramble]My wife went to San Antonio over the weekend with her family, and without me (I had to work )... Well, they stopped at Rudy's, and brought me leftovers. She said they all really enjoyed. It was late when she got home, so I'll let you know tonight how they are.

Her sisters live in Sachse, so I'm down that way occasionally... BTW, when are you moving up this way? I recently found out my sister and her hubby are buying some land in SW MO. Guess they're gonna build, and move back here from Reno... Kinda nice to have family close by, but there goes my place to stay in Reno...[/ramble]

Out of curiosity, why are they moving back from Reno? Everytime I've gone there I've thought it would be a pretty cool place to live since you can enjoy the desert climate in Reno, yet drive an hour or two up to Tahoe and enjoy a completely different climatic environment.

Reno is a place I have in the back of my mind as a place I'd like to move to when I don't have to work for a living any longer.......

Why would anyone WANT to move to Reno? I always thought of it as a place that you'd have to move if work forced you. hahaha

Well, work forced her, and that's how she met her husband. His parents live on lake Tahoe. BEAUTIFUL!

I guess they're tired of the high cost of living, and they prefer the wooded Ozarks, and small town life. The land they're buying has two small spring fed lakes stocked with catfish, and something else, but can't remember now...

Reno is nice to visit, but I'd have no interest in living there. Now, some place near Albuquerque or Phoenix might do for me, or even Flagstaff... I love it in AZ, but I'm sure I'd miss the trees. We now have 5 acres, 2 of which are covered with oak, cedar and pine...

Yeah -- SW MO/NW AR has a lot going for it in the scenery department -- especially if you like trees! The problem with that area is that there are really very few jobs worth having in the area.

I have traveled you're general geographic area for work almost my entire career and still can't figure out (beyond catering to retirees or working at Wal-Mart) how people make a decent living there.......

Alot of manufacturers mainly the Marine industry is around because of the central loaction, (it cost as much and shipping times, to ship either to or from east coast or west coast and canada or mexico. Average shipping cost savings and more consitant shipping times.) Plus cheap taxes and other perks, that and tourist keeps the Ozarks area heartbeat pumping. Everything else is a driect result of that.

Hey closer.

We want to move up that way, we just have to get all of our ducks in a row. The sooner the better.

I wish I could just up and move NOW, but there is some things we have to tend to first. We have our house on the market now, and will rent till we are ready to move. I'll keep you informed.

Hey Matt, that sig is sick.
