Roush Nitemare
Roush Nitemare
[Disclaimer: I searched and found nothing, if however, I missed it . . . I'll be like Jamz and say: "Sue Me".]
So today I'm at the GMC dealer and looking at the new Sierra Denali (sweet, sweet, sweet), but then I get home to do further web research and come across this:
and this is what it is:
Damn . . . only 100?!?!?! Dealers are gonna try and rape 100 souls with that BS. I'd consider it, but Homey don't play the dealer mark-up game.
I'd also guess that they are all already spoken for . . . .
Damn, I wish SVT would do another Lightning . . . .
(By the way, Roush and Ford are just asking for it with a name like Nitemare . . . if that truck ends up having problems it's name will be fodder for ridicule like you wouldn't believe).

The "Nitemare" F-150 gets a supercharger that boosts its 5.4-liter V-8 to 445 horsepower. The limited run of 100 trucks arrives in Roush-authorized showrooms in June, shortly before the new Harley F-150 with 450 hp arrives.
The Roush package is significantly different than the new Harley package. For one, it's based on the standard-cab F-150. And with only 100 copies being built, it promises to be significantly more rare.
The Nitemare will only be offered with black paint to go with its supercharged engine, which also twists out 500 pound-feet of torque. In congress with the supercharger are new intake manifolds, a new air induction system, and an intercooler - all supplied with a three-year, 36,000 mile warranty. A 3.73 limited-slip rear axle is also outfitted to the tuned truck.
Design cues on the Nitemare include a new chin spoiler and grille, a dual rear exhaust, and matte black striping to go with its black exterior paint. Inside, Nitemare logos are applied to the seats and instrument cluster, which is lit red. Aluminum pedals and embroidered floor mats are standard, while a rear wing, hood scoop, and a GPS are options, along with a sport suspension with new front coils, rear springs, and shocks.
Roush will price its Nitemare from $41,750.

100? what a joke.

You can make any model variant F150 from a base truck if you wanted to. Wanna build your own Lariat, you could, wanna make your own HD . . . you could do that too. A lot of us could have built Lightning equivalents but chose to let Ford do it. So what's your point?

if they are only making 100 of them you can bet your *** that the dealer mark up will be at least another $41000.......yet another ride i will never have any chance to own, yay

$41K base MSRP... so I'm sure after dealer markup it'll be around $60K. Noooo thank you.
wow, SVT really needs to get off their asses and start getting ready for a new lightning in 2009. its been a hard 4 years seeing all these trucks people are trying to make to replace the lightning, but nothing ever will.

Well done Zaairman!
When wasted on three times the prescribed dosage of pain meds, Kobi can't spell or write a sentence to save his life.
Let this be a lesson to you all, Vicoden and sleeping meds = bad. Not only do you become incoherent, you don't even care to look at what you wrote.
(You laugh a lot at the stupidest things though).
Just looks like an STX with $7,000 in aftermarket stuff.
This is just another obvious move from Ford. When a vehicle is in it's final design life stages, many manuf try and make new "rare" versions in order to promote sales.
That's the reason for the other 5 limited edition F150s that are coming out....all with the same motor and drivetrain by the way.
Same thing will happen and is happening to the Mustang.

- Other than the fact that you cannot get a 5.4L in a STX nor the nicer mirrors.
- Ford and Roush are closer related, yes. However they are not the same entity so to say that isn't completely true. Roush is trying to increase sales and since Ford hasn't produced a fast truck lately, they decided to step up to the plate.

We do have one more nit to pick, or rather, two: the recently introduced Foose F-150 and the Saleen S331 Supercharged. Saleen builds the engine in the Harley-Davidson, as well as the engine in its own truck. Ford’s official line on the Foose is that the engine isn’t finalized yet, but the company doesn’t have the money to waste developing a different supercharged V-8 for low-volume trucks. Does the world really need three separate supercharged F-150s, two directly from Ford and all with the same engine?

My neighbor made a small fortune by making his shop an authorized Show Truck USA conversion shop back in the early 90's.
