Cool Do-It-Yourself Ideas! :)

Let's build a list of do-it-yourself ideas! For a summer project, I'd like to do some cool mods for my truck. THE GOAL: inexpensive and somewhat realistic. Submit your ideas!

Here are the 2 things that are next on my list:
-Mounting fog lights behind the grille
-removing CATs and putting o2 simulators in there

So far I've done:
-westin stainless steel nerf bars
-dual exhaust (Magnaflow muffler)

My truck's specs:
-99 F150
-4x4
-5.4L
-Auto
-Ext cab 4door

Better brakes, Some detailing/STOP the rust, Air intake

Well,.... 1st on my list is brakes. Rear Drum breaks are suddenly very noisey especially in the morning or wet weather. Going to change to slotted rotors upfront and good quiet pads. So if anyone has a setup they really like let me know. I've just started my research on this.

2nd It's been a hard winter. The truck really needs some TLC Going to give it a good detailing and get some wax on it, and see what can be done about the rust (Michigan Winters!! Aaaaaagh.....@#($%*U)

3rd Id like to add a K&N FIPK. But I I will only do that if I can get it within my budget. Like on Ebay or classifieds.

And the list goes on ans on but I'll be happy if I can get the 1st to done this summer.

L8ter,

Dayhiker

Especially when you have nothing to lose (ie driving a 95 F150 with a 4.9l motor)

Ok how about a new air freshener? Maybe hang some fuzzy dice from the rear view? Wash the truck (only if you are not under watering restrictions like me)? how about a cheap seat cover? get an indian style blanky and throw it over the seat. Pin-striping with duct tape!!! WD-40 the door hinges.

The list really does go on

Hope this helps
Stan

OK i think i'd rather waste my money like the guy with he 4.9L truck.

I saw some guy painted parts of his dash, with the exterior color of his truck. it looked real nice. I wonder how hard that would be...

Shouldn't be a problem. Vinyl paints and stains are really quite good these days.
