Ants are attracted to electronics. Can't remember if it was from the electromagnetic fields or the materials inside. We talked about this in electronics school in the Marines. We had more than one infestation in our radio gear in the Humvees.

I know the ants are attracted to the wire jackets since many companies use soy or peanut oil in the manufacturing process.

Far as the Karma thing goes , i generally do the same thing unless the offending critter poses a risk to my kids. See black widow go splat. Any other bugs that will wiggle up on a newspaper is free to go.

I left my truck parked at the airport for a couple of weeks and had ants living under the passenger side door sill when I got back. It was disgusting.

My bathroom door was inside my bedroom. And when I would get up for work at about 4am I would just leave my bedroom light on and not turn the bathroom one on.
Well one night it rained and I woke up, did the usual. Took my shower and got out to dry off when I notice ants on my feet. I was like huh? and I turned the light on and there were thousands upon thousands of ants in my tub and I just showered in them. They were coming from outside the tub at the front corner. Piled on top of each other. You could pick up handfulls if you wanted. The only spots not covered were where the water hit...It seriously was like fear factor or something. I would say even close to a million ants. The apartment manager and exterminator had never seen that many before in a single area. It was the grossest thing I've ever seen or experienced. Geesh, I feel like they are crawling on me noww...ewwww
