Stupid catfish

A friend of mine emailed me a story about a couple who saw a big flathead catfish with a basketball in its mouth. They had to cut the ball in order to save the fish. Stupid catfish.

I saw this about half a year ago on an e-mail as well... crazy!

After learning about catfish, I will never eat one again... Those things are so toxic, they are like the pigs of water. They eat all the crap and dead things in the water... then we eat the catfish

Catfish eating days are over for me...

You eat chicken? Thats a hellva lot worse than catfish on being dirty. Besides, the toxins don't build up enough to be harmful until you eat one of the monster ones. I'm talking like over 80lbs

So I'd guess it's safe to assume that you don't eat any pig product either?

Most of the catfish that you eat in a restaurant or buy at the store have been fed a steady diet of pelletized fish food in a nicely manicured pond until large enough to market

I would say they're pretty safe.

Flatheads' diets are comprised mainly of live baitfish anyway. One of the reasons that they taste 10x better than the other catfish species.

Never seen the second two pics, cool.

I take it Catfish don't taste much like Halibut?
