laser scar removal

SO about 4 months ago, i was welding under my truck "exhaust leak", couldn't fit under there with a helmet, so i just shut my eyes, well a red hot piece, about the size of a BB landed right on my forehead between my eyes. yea it hurt really bad because it was stuck in my skin for a second. Well I cleaned out the burn and put stuff on it from then up until now every day twice a day, the scar is the size of a pencil eraser. No scar ointment will take care of it, and it seems to keep getting more red. Anyone have laser scar remover done on their face? Is it a one time thing? painful? also, whats the cost of something like that? I really cant stand it being there. Id just like some feedback if possible

Thats what I tell my little league baseball team when they fall and scrap themselfs.

That or I tell them to rub some dirt on it.

OK quick story, not to high jack but this is funny.
Last year I had told them many time when theyd get hurt during practice. "Aww just rub some dirt on it and get back on the field".
During a game, my catcher took a wild one right in the boys and didnt have a cup on. He doubled over for a litle bit and I was sprinting to him. I get about half way there, he stands up grabs, a hand full of dirt and sticks it down his pants!!!!
I about fell over laughing so hard I couldn't run anymore.

Also, why were you putting this "stuff" on for 4 months? You didn't notice that it wasn't going away after 1 month?

If it is becoming more irritated I would first suggest a regular doctor take a look at it. Get it so that it is a least stabilized . . . then decided if you want to pursue cosmetic surgery.

Laser scar removal (or reduction) might work for you but it will depend on how big the scar is, how deep, your skin type . . . in other words a lot of things. Other types of scar treatments may be more appropriate. Keep in mind that there's no guarantee that, whatever treatment your doctor determines is going to work best for you, that it will make the scar undetectable. A lot of times the best thing to do is cut the scar out and leave a very thin incision scar that's a lot less noticeable. The only way to tell what is best is to find a really good plastic surgeon. And I mean REALLY GOOD. Cosmetic surgeons are a dime a dozen, and a lot of them are hacks. You're going to have to do research, find references to talk to (even better if they have had similar surgery(ies)). There are a number of really good plastic surgeons here in Beverly Hills (not that I would know anyone who has used one . . . no way, not in this town) . . . between this place and New York there are probably a few dozen great ones. In MO, I would tend to guess KC is the place you'll find a good one.

Do a lot of research, then interview a bunch of doctors until you find one that's good, that you feel comfortable with, and that you trust. He/she should take the time to go over with you all the details, discuss what they think will work best for your case and why, and tell you what to expect.

Whatever you choose, choose wisely and good luck.
