Changing jobs.. changing vehicles... what would you do?
Ok, so it looks like Im heading into a sales job that is going to require me putting a lot of miles on my vehicle and with that many miles comes the necessity of better gas mileage (not that 13 mpg isnt awesome).
I have an 04 F150 XCab, 4.6L.
I need to switch vehicles I guess, but Im not sure what to.
If you had to trade your F150 in in this situation, what would you trade for?
I was thinking about...
Escape
Ranger (2.3L)
SportTrac
Impala
Accord
Any thoughts, or what have I missed that is a good option?
Looking to buy used of course since the miles will be high, but would like to keep an SUV or something that isn't a car really.
Let you know what YOU would do...

Good point, it is sort of a business venture, but one without risk (long story).
It is actually a yearbook selling job in schools that my wife and i are going to undertake.
So it is selling yearbooks, 1.5 hours away and some city driving thrown in.

Look for a decent rat car on the bay. You've got the truck to take it home.... just rent a car trailer from Uhaul.
Don't get rid of ther Fiddy because of your job that requires you to travel more. Anyhow, treat the rat car as your "company car"... lol
This way your Fiddy will last a lot longer. Not to mention if the rat car decides to bust, you won't have an excuse not to be able to go to work, unless it died while going to work.

get a beater civic or something. like a 2003ish model year for like $6-$9 grand. 30+ mpg. unless your f150 has equity in it you are gonna take a hit on trade in. so your gas savings wont really save you money if you look at the big picture. get a beater and park the truck.
