I can see a few more tickets in your future.
I would take it off, show them its off, and have them drop the ticket. Then go get it back on. I know around here where I am, tinting is not a bad price price.

I was pulled for speeding. Cop said if I take the tint off the back glass he would drop the ticket. Took it off, he dropped the ticket, and the next day I had it back on.

You would not believe the amount of stuff officers get from "ordinary" traffic stops like, tint, speeding, no turn signals.

Keep the illegal tint and plan on being stopped again, simple. BTW, don't be drinking '2 beers' and complain about being stopped for tint as well.

Your on Elmendorf as well? Fly boys should know better, right Goose?

CHARLIE
He was in a 4G Negative dive and you were on his six?

MAVERICK
Yes, ma'am, At first. Then I was directly above him.

She stares at him for a moment, then she has him. She goes for the kill.

CHARLIE
If you were directly above him, how did you see him?

MAVERICK
I was inverted.

A real buzz in the room. Ice laughs audibly.

CHARLIE
You were in a 4G inverted dive with a MiG 21? (She can't believe it.)

At what range ?

MAVERICK
Two.

CHARLIE
Two miles.

MAVERICK
Two meters.

Chuckles, barely suppressed. Goose pipes up to deflect attention.

GOOSE
One and a half, actually. I got a polaroid.

If you're too dark than you're too dark. Perhaps that's why most shops have you sign a waiver if you have them apply anything other than a legal percentage. Mt tint is 20% in a 35% legal state. I know this and accept that I could get cited and an ERO. If I do, I'll fix it and move on with my life and not complain about it. Why? Because.... I KNOW I'M WRONG!!!

And for idiots that tint their windshield; God help you if you ever have an accident after dusk. I'm all for pushing the bounds of the motor vehicle law but some things are just ridiculous.

I never had a ticket for tinted windows, but have been cited for some total BS things before. Recently, passing in a no passing zone. Traffic was stalled waiting to get on the onramp, merging to the right. I was going straight and could see oncoming traffic for a mile down the road + there was a stop sign for the traffic coming towards me, of which there was none. So I cross the yellow lines and go around like 3 cars so I can keep going straight. One of those cars was a cop and he immediatley whipped out behind me and pulled me over. Gave me a $101 ticket. About an 8th mile down the road, there was this huge construction barrel in the middle of the road. I pointed out that I was going to have to illegally pass that barrel too and he got all pissy and walked up to my window with his hands on his sides, like he was going to go for his gun or something and said "don't take that attitude with me." I'm like FO, as if you have domain over my disposition. Where I live, the cops would rather pull good citizens over for anything and cite them, than go after real criminals. Why? Because there is no money in going after bad guys. Plus, if they would do something about the roads, like they haven't for the last 4 decades, people would not be as compelled to try dangerous stuff. I really think they are alienating citizens around here, especially with this "strictly enforced" BS. I know I will be less inclined to help them, if I ever witness anything or could render assistance. Another a**hole cited me for driving in the HOV lane, when I was taking the next exit. I was a 1/4 mile from the exit, traffic was not moving in any lanes, including HOV. I saw a gap and got over. The lane was not even marked as to where it ended so you would know where to get over. You guessed it, another $101. These folks need to remember who they work for.

I think sometimes the cops just get bored and decide to give out b/s tickets. I have dark tint on my front windows, when I see a cop, both my front windows go down all the way. I may get pulled over, but I really could care less, the tint stays, I know I'm in the wrong so I wouldn't complain about it, but I do agree there should be a warning first, then the second time you get caught there should be a ticket. Even worse then the cops, in the town were I live we have these photo radar vans that will bust you for speeding, they sit on the side of the road and take your picture, I've always wanted to get out and beat the guy running it like a redhead step child when I see him sitting in the trees all hidden. The point of photo radar is to cut down on speeding, they could cut down on speeding just as much and not be all sneaky and in the trees on the side of the road all hidden.

A buddy and I was just talking about tint yesterday. We both have 15% tint on our trucks. The legal limit is 35%, but after seeing how light it was we changed our minds to get 15%. The tint for me is actaully more function than looks. I have very sensitive eyes, and with the tint it is much easier for me to drive, especially in the morinings. Yet, the eye doctor will still not issue me a permit.

I think that there should be a law, that when you get pulled over, you have to roll down your windows. That would let everyone keep there tint, and allow the cops to be safe. Problem solved.

If you're saying the same cop gave you two tickets in the same day (within the same hour) for the same offense....I find it hard to beleive!!!

I have limo tint on my old 2004 F150 front windows, and have been given a few warnings that it is illegal and that i should remove it. I still havent had an actual ticket yet. I have even driven right beside police cars with my windows up and they didnt even give me a second look. I guess it is all in how you deal with the Officers when they do pull you over.

I know it is illegal and it is also unsafe at night to drive with your front windows that dark, which is why my front windows on my new F150 are 20% now.

**** or not, he is a cop and cops can basically do what they want. Anyone who thinks otherwise is sadly mistaken.

On another note, I have window tint on all 5 windows on my wife's Honda Accord and it's been on for about 3 months now and we haven't been hassled at all. I drive by police officers all the time and never think twice about it. Maybe because I live in the desert, and its blistering hot out here in the summertime and they know it really helps.

why is it so hard to obey the law? especially something as simple as tinting.

either keep it legal or keep your mouth shut when you get busted for breaking the law. every time I've been pulled over I accepted the blame for why I got pulled over. It ain't the cops fault he caught you doing/having something illegal.

Man up on this I'm glad sycophants like yourself are happy about being screwed over. I know what the laws are and the intent of the laws are to keep people safe. I suppose you would would just stop behind an obstruction and stay there all day, even if there were no traffic anywhere around.

PS. You have no clue about me or the way I drive so ****. Oh, not trying to start anything, either.

in that case, no. but as you described what happened to you, yes I would sit there and wait rather than drive down opposing traffic and "risk" a head-on collision because I was too impatient to wait 5 minutes...and I definetaly would have looked for a cop before doing it.

I don't know about you, but all HOV lanes I've seen are in the FAR FAR left lane...kinda weird to get into that lane for an exit that is only a 1/4 mile away...maybe it was a left exit...I've heard those exist.

all laws and rules are there for a reason. they may be stupid in your eyes, but a legitimate reasoning was behind it. I don't know if you aware though, that a cop does have domain over your disposition. You can be arrested for having an attitude with a cop. it doesn't happen often, but it can

sycophant hardly...Be respectful, courteous and acknowledge the cop for what they are. Keepers of the Peace. In return most will treat you the same way. If you're not a indignant ***** when they come to talk to you, they'll most likely warn you and go away. You never want to give a cop reasons to look for more citations. I doubt very seriously that they're out to get you. I've been pulled over numerous times and have never been given a ticket. And I will credit that to being polite and admitting what I did. I've never been pulled over for nothing as everyone swears happened to them.

for someone not wanting to start something, you sure have non-tactful ways. you yourself have given us 2 clear examples of you blatently violating the law to hasten your travel rather than wait for the situation to clear like everybody else.
