Remember when I said . . . .

The the whole bird flu thing was bulls**t, that it wouldn't be a pandemic, and that it was all an attempt by the cdc and pharmaceutical companies to scare folks to buy stuff . . . ???? Repeatedly I commented on this when you kids started threads - and long ones at that - debating about it and fearful about it . . .

So, let's review . . . how many millions of people have died ???? Where's that pandemic?. . . .

*crickets*

(Actually, the few reported deaths there were, were not bird flu at all, but that's a long story)

Well, evidently the powers that be are at it again. What with bird flu not being all that it could be, this round it's KILLER TB with no cure!!!!!!!!!

here are the highlights for the Washington Post article:

Virulent New Strain of TB Raising Fears of Pandemic
Bug Is Resistant to Most Available Drugs

At least 50 percent of those who contract this strain of TB will die of it, according to medical experts.

here's the link (although it's a waste of time)

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...202831_pf.html

Now, let's stop this dead in its tracks before it starts. This is BS. It's not going to happen. It's just another fear mongering tactic to cause you to panic and make your representatives vote to pour money into programs to pay pharmaceuticals big bucks - and generally cause you to to live in fear.

So ignore it, and laugh any time someone wants to tell you that the end is near because of TB . . . . and bird flu . . . and killer bees . . . and killer flu . . . and on and on . . .

It's a conspiracy man!

These jokers are MAKING these viruses pop up, so when they come up with a "treatment", stock prices soar, and new boats fly off dealer lots.

Before long, Polio will make a comeback, as will smallpox.

This was just in time, if things had gotten much quieter I planned to release a series of farts across the country.
It's not polio but, it would have caused quite a stir.

We had a mini-game around my office about bird flu:

<blank> has killed more people that bird flu. We'd try and one-up each other on something seen in everyday life that has killed more people than bird flu.

Elevators have killed more people than bird flu.

Dihydrogen monoxide kills alot more people per year than Bird Flu ever will.

Its a very dangerous chemical and should be banned.

I ingest it every day (in bottled form only) and so far, no ill effects.
