That is a pretty sad story. This will be another one of those stories about how horrible pitbulls are though. As some of you know, I own a pitbull and she is by far the best dog I have ever come in contact with. Never has she ever shown aggression towards any human being. I even had one of the guys I work with come in my house one night (my dog had never seen him before) and pretend to attack me. He rushed through the back door screaming while I was sitting at the kitchen table and jump on me and took me to the ground. My pitbull was sitting right next to me and all she did was watch and then started licking the guys face. It's all about how the dogs are raised. I dont care what kind of dog it is, if you raise it a certain way and it is trained correctly, you can teach a dog to be viscious, or a complete teddy bear.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.

Its easier to blame the animal than the moron that raised it like crap. My golden is the biggest suck on the planet, basically a 70lb lap dog. But damn, when a rabid skunk came towards me once when I was hunting he got right between it and me. Luckily I dropped the little bastard before he got to us.
When raised properly any dog will be the most loyal companion anyone can have, that little terrier sure proved that.

Really? Mine didn't have any problem cracking a joke and laughing to myself. I think it might be time to change your Tampax, Sally.

Poor ol pouch. I think msnbc could have used another word then destroyed. Like put down would have been a better word. Now some dogs are prone too aggressive behavior, but with good training. A loving owner the risk of a burst of anger will be less likley to happened.

I'm man enough to admit that it's saddening both for the kids, and for the ever increasing negative pitbull rep.

Thats what my dad always says too.

In the words of Jerry Clower:
"Give me a man with heart over a man with braun anyday. Enough heart can conquer anything, braun is only as strong as the mans will. I've seen a 1/2" long yellow jacket make a 2000 lb bull jump a SIX STRAND BARB WIRE FENCE!!!!! Why???? Because that yellow jacket had heart, he had a weapon and was not a bit scared to use it."

No I don't have a problem with the word destroyed. I just figured aswell educated as msnbc reports are. They would have choosed a better word than destroyed. Why do you question if I have backbone or not anyway?
