There is an aura of BS that surrounds most of those Civic guys. Some how they get it in their head that they are faster than everything on the road.

I work witha guy like that on occasion. He's not in my department, sometimes works over there. I never get into a debate with him.. I just let him rant about how fast his car is. It's hilarious. It takes everything I have to not laugh in his face. The icing on the cake was him telling me he has to start off in 3rd gear when its raining because it spins out everytime if he doesn't. HAHAHA

I think a 5.4 would add more weight than it is worth.

The real 5.0 is really only a 4.9L.

Adrian Speeder was stating that the buildup on Horsepower was only a striked 4.6 MOD motor.. stroked to 5.0 liters of displacement.

Odin said 5.0 is in reality a 4.9 litre.. Old/Real 5.0 pushrod engine... Not mod

I may be mistaken here... but wasn't the 4.9 litre an inline 6 cylinder... 300C.I.

5.0 was a 302C.I V8? Someone corect that if it's wrong.

Hey, I don't know everything by any means. Always happy to learn.

Right khendrix, you got what I ment.

Also Oden is correct if you directly with significant digits convert 302 cubic inches to Metric. However there is I think six cubic inches of fudge factor for every .1L of displacement.

In ford terms, the I6 is 300ci/4.9L, and the 302ci V8 got the 5.0L number.

Correct. And stock they did not make a great deal of power. I like pushrod engines better than the ford modulars, especially the LS series Chevies; but, I think some people are going to be surprised to see how much power this build up is going to make. I'm looking forward to see myself. I didn't see what compression ratio they built into it.

The old 302, and the GM 327, were special in that they could really take a beating.
