Now, if that had been Bush & Cheney, maybe I would have been able to muster a snicker... But, it still wouldn't be funny.
Sorry but your tone seemed very defensive, but like always tone is very hard to determine when reading a reply in a forum.

I saw that on South Park too.

No, Jesse and Al aren't the Emporers of black people.

But, if you are black, and you find yourself in some seriously unfair BS. They are like Ghost Busters...

Who you gonna call?

People are pissed at them because of Imus, but- right before Don Imus, they helped get a 14 year old black girl out of jail, who had been in jail for one year out of a 7 year sentence, for PUSHING a teachers aid.

Meanwhile, two white kids of similiar age in the same jurisdiction got PROBATION for double vehicular homicide (White kid driving a truck struck and killed black woman and her 3-year old grand baby as they walked down the sidewalk), and arson (14 year old white girl set fire to someone's home).

Talk about unfair? I'm no fan of Al & Jesse, but if I got caught in some unfair BS like that, damn-right I'd want the two biggest mouths in America shouting for me. You usually don't hear from them unless something seriously cruel or unfair has happened to a black person. Like the unarmed kid in New York the police shot 41 times, the black guy some police force sodomized with a broomstick. For some it's too late (like the guy that got shot 41 times), but for others, their voice can bring justice to those abused by the system.

But, like with everything, once its black and white, most blacks side with the black person, and most whites side with the white person, and it's 1964 all over again.

Nine years ago, the US press was full of reports of a man named James Byrd who was brutally murdered by three men in Jasper, Texas. The accused picked up Mr. Byrd, beat him, chained him, and then dragged him to his death behind their truck. Politicians wrung their hands, the media shed floods of tears, and ink, about the enormity of the crime and even the President issued a statement condemning the act. The press in this and other countries joined in the act, asking what this kind of horrifying act says about the future of the USA.
The second example occurred in 2002 when a man named Ken Tillery, also in Jasper, Texas hitched a ride, this time with four men who held him hostage, beat him and then ran over him with their vehicle, crushing him to death. Unlike the case of Mr. Byrd there was an almost deafening silence from the various news outlets and the only press report seems to have appeared in the Houston Chronicle.
The difference in the treatment of the two cases? In this racist age, the explanation is very simple; the unfortunate Mr. Tillery, unlike the equally unfortunate Mr. Byrd, was white.

And can someone explain why Rev. Al is always sitting there lookin pretty with his Armani suit, Exxon hair and Cheshire Cat grin while the parents of a murdered African American man grieve and mourn?! Oh yeah... it's cause he's a freakin glory hound who also happens to be the biggest GD hypocritical racist on the face of the planet.

No offense.

It's ppl like JJ and Rev Al who keep the black community shackled to the past, unable, nay, unwilling to let go something which blithed the American society oh so many years ago.

Yeah, that's effed up about what happened to that white guy in Jasper... This is the first I've heard of it.

What do we have- about 1,500 - 3,000 murders a year in this country? They all don't get reported, only the most atrocious ones really become "newsworthy".

A girl I went to church with was murdered by her ex-boyfriend right before thanksgiving- The guy got in his car, drove 2.3 hours from his home to hers, knocked on the door, and when she opened it, he stuck the gun in her face, and pulled the trigger. After she fell, he shot her in the head again... In front of their kids.

Then he killed himself.

This happened in Ferriday, LA.

I doubt anyone more than 30 miles from Ferriday knew about it, unless their releatives told them. A few years before that, in Lacy Petersen fashion, a guy kidnapped his pregnant girlfriend, murdered her, hid the body under or near a church, and went on back about his life as if nothing happened. (Tallulah, LA & Waterproof, LA). I doubt anyoen heard about that either.

Things only get national attention when it's deemed a "hate crime".

What color were the guys who killed the man you mentioned? I bet they were white... It only gets national attention when it's a hate crime, or truly atrocious.

One must be mindful of the past... Any good Jedi will tell you that. That will hopefully keep it from happened again. But clearly, as in the cases above, things still happen in unfair fashion, to blacks- when police are involved.

A 14 year old with no criminal record, gets 7 years for a push? While arsonists and murderers get probation? Come on now... That's the past, but it was the recent past.

She was in jail a year before it made the news.

Actually... the men who killed Tillery, were African American. Figure that out. The only "hate crimes" that get any real attention are White on Black. Black on White or any other combo just doesn't seem to 'fit the bill' for national media coverage.

If I'm being un-PC while trying to be, then I apologize. You never know what any certain ethnic or cultural group wants to be referred to from day to day. It changes. In all honesty though, I think the whole PC thing is over-rated. Ppl need to have thicker hides unless of course being blatantly insulted/degraded.

And I also agree that there's a lot of BS ppl get away with that should be thuroughly throttled for.
