Talking Hello everyone! My name is Doug... and this is my truck (pics included)

Hey there! Just wanted to introduce my 1999 F150. The service engine soon light came on. Any suggestions as to what this may be? I have a V6 5 speed manual. Maybe the light just needs reset? What would be some less expensive ways to clear this?

This next picture is of a ribbon magnet that partially didn't come off. Any suggestions as to getting the rest of this magnet off?

Thanks for looking.
Doug

Howdy and welcome! The M5OD-R2 is a favorite tranny of mine (although moreso with a 302 or 4.6L. heh heh) Get yer codes read for free by a OBD2 scan tool to see whats up at any autozone or whatnot.

Oh, plastic razor blade on the magnet. You can get em at paint stores.

Do a search in the "engines" forum to find out about the light. Beautiful truck, and welcome to the site!

Welcome Doug

The SES light could be a number of things from a loose gas cap to serious engine troubles. There are quite a few places that will hook it up to a computer for free and let you know what codes come back. Last time mine came on it was "Low engine coolant temp" we put a new thermostat in and it fixed it right up!
