Check out my new ride

Hey guys, I know it's not a Ford but, it's a cool ride. 07 HD Road Glide with stereo, cruise control, and some cool paint. I was going to get the vivd black but everyone has those and I liked the orange. I also got a huge HD catalog and these things have got lots of upgrades. Enjoy and see you on the road. Shorte'

Congrats. You paid $18000+ to get a bike with an engine design that dates to before WWII.

Nice Road Glide.

If it were me, I'd rather have a 2006 or 2007 Honda 'Wing. Navi, airbags, stereo, heated grips, etc...

It's like a 2-wheeled Accord.

It's a HD-bashing thing. I was thinking the same thing... the Harley cool-aid is in America's water supply though, and that's just sad.

I will however, toast to a fellow biker regardless of his poor taste in bikes.. Be safe out there man!

Allow me to re-phrase:

Firstly, congrats on your bike purchase. Motorcycling is the 2nd most important activity in my life after aviation. I look forward to every time I throw a leg over either one of my 2 bikes.

Secondly, congrats on paying $5000 extra to have two words on your bike. Harley Davidson are ancient Leni Lenapii Indian words that roughly translate to: "over-weight, under-powered & over-priced"

Better?

No problem guys. If it's not what you like then that's ok. Anyway, I always wanted a touring bike, the time was right, and I can afford it. The vette is another project that will be running this summer. I put a new crate motor in it and a bunch of other stuff and it should run strong. Not Lightning fast but fast enough to put a grin on my face. See you on the road.

That is a very nice motorcycle. Good to see that you won't let a few posters get to you. They really shouldn't worry that you spent more money to get what you want. It is your money and you should be allowed to spend it however you want.

My Dad had a Harley and I thought it was a lot of fun. I personally don't have one, but don't see why people have to be so anti-Harley. I understand that a lot of people want one just because of the name, but so what. Why should they care?

Anyway, congrats on the bike!!

Hey! A buddy of mine works in s HD dealership in the area and he tells me that HD has broken into the twentieth century with their technology.

People are buying more than just a bike when they buy a HD. According to my buddy, that's a long term relationship with the service department.

Shorty, congrats on the bike. And it is more than just a bike. It's a part of American heritage.

He's right, it took them until the 2007 model year to actually use fuel injection on most of their bikes. They did a couple other things... oh yeah, extra gear in the tranny.. something else... they are getting forced to finally make some minor advances.

Personally I think they are beautiful to look at, but that's where it ends. If you have the money and what a touring bike there are sooooooo many other great options out there. Options with gobs more power, smoother engines and quieter, plusher rides. Not to mention better handling. But to each his own. The most important part is just being on two wheels.
