A big step in the right direction (I hope)

Well, my world has been a little topsy-turvy since October regarding my job/career.

The company I worked for was bought out at that time by a big coporate entity here in Canada, and the outlook was to be bright and the future was to hold great things for the management group (of which I am a part of).

Since then, it's pretty much a fact that we have been strung along, been taken advantage of and basically lied to about what will happen in the future. I loved what I do, but not at the risk of busting my *** for nothing.

Well, since then, I had been looking around for other lines of work. A new career path if you will.....

Put my resume up on Monster and other local job web sites to guage the intrest.

Then a few weeks ago, got the call that I hope will lead me down the right path in terms of my career aspirations.

Yesterday, after my second interview, I received a "job offer". Slept on it overnight, discussed it with some friends and family.......and woke up this morning with a great outlook on it. Good money, good benefits, NORMAL work weeks.

So as of two weeks from now, I think I will be working for a pretty cool company. Good company to work for from what I hear and read about.........

Only bad thing is I'm a Kenseth fan....lol....

Can't wait to start my new job with the HD!

Congrats on the new job.

You could still be a #17 fan.....HD sells alot of yellow and black (junk to me) and I'm sure they'll let you bring in some Arby's.

Good luck on the job. I know all about buyouts and being strung along. More than once. The last one I worked for a bank based here in MD. Bought by an out of state bank. From NY. Myself and a few others were told, we want you all to stay. We really need you. One year later we were all told to kiss off.

An old co-worker of mine started with Home Depot in Atlanta when they had only 7 stores. Let's just say that due to stock options, when he left the company in the late-90's he worked because he wanted to, and not because he had to!

Although, come to think of it, the guy was really pretty much an idiot -- I remember saying to myself on more than one occassion that only in America could a bone-head like that become a multi-millionaire!
