PayPal payments

I buy something on Ebay and the only choice I have when paying with PayPal is the electronic check. This takes 3 business days to clear. I don't remember having to wait 3 days before for it to clear when I wanted to send a payment but now this is the only option it gives me.

WTH?

Thats strange, something must be screwed up. I just bought a new Bostich roofing nailer the other day and everything was normal. I will check my paypal to see if I can figure out how to change that for you.

Very weird, I just won a couple of items from eBay and paid with PayPal. Payment was instant. I don't know what could be the problem with your account.

I had never heard of a paypal echeck so I did some digging in the paypal help section. I guess I never noticed the option because use Instant Transfer and have a cc as a backup source of funds so my transactions are always Instant Transfers.
Ok, now that I tried to do a transfer the echeck is my only option. I think my cc expired 3 days ago so that's probably why. I better update that.

From Paypal Help:
An eCheck is an electronic funds transfer that withdraws money directly from your bank account. It's just like writing a check, only it is done electronically.
When you send money with an eCheck from a U.S. bank account, the transaction is held as pending for 3-4 business days, until the electronic funds transfer clears your bank
When you send money with an eCheck from a Canadian bank account, the transaction is held as pending for 7-8 business days, until the electronic funds transfer clears your bank.

Note: An eCheck payment is different than Instant Transfer because it is not an instant payment. An Instant Transfer sends the money to the recipient's account immediately, because it guaranteed by a secondary funding source should the initial transfer fail.

It is because your credit card information has changed or expired

Exactly. Mine was expired. I just updated it and it's back to Instant Transfer instead of e-check.

I bet that's it. I did get a new CC number when my card was reissued and never updated PayPal with the new number! Just didn't think about it and they never sent a notification that I remember.

Thanks Larry!
