Best unedited fight sequence ever?
Best unedited fight sequence ever?
It's pretty good.
From the site:
This is a fight sequence from the movie The Protector featuring Tony Jaa (of Ong Bak fame). It was shot using a stedicam and lasts almost 4 minutes with no cuts and no edits. Plus I'm pretty sure two or three guys actually died while filming this because they were either thrown through a door or off the balcony. And, yeah, it's perfectly okay if watching this gives you a boner.

What's so scary ... Lord Vader?
That Rocks!!!!!!!!
I liked torwards the end when the guy is throwing crap at him and he runs up and drop kicks him through the vase. Not real poweful or flashy but teh shattering vase combined with the guy getting knocked back/down is impressive.
Also nice when they are behind the lattice and all you can really see is the guys head being shoved through the wall every few seconds.
Very good find, thans for sharing.

The fight scene in the movie "Dragon" was pretty good too, when the dude came to get a little "payback" from Bruce Lee.

Mad Dude: I've read your book, I know your moves...
Bruce: Let's see what you have learned.
Then, the butt whipping began.

time for a little bit of Ted Haggard's reparative therapy.
Remember in "The Run Down", where Arnold walks by The Rock in the club and gives him the nod? There's a scene in "The Protector" in which Jackie Chan does something similar for Tony Jaa. Sort of like passing along his crown to their successor.
This one is total BS; but, entertaining. It's a little brutal; so, the cheese and wine crowd may want to call their mommy before watching it.

That's a hell of a scene there Jamz...good find!
Tony Jaa has always impressed me since seeing Ong Bak.
I saw this in the theater...
It's OK to love your elephants... Just don't. LOVE your elephants... That scene where he got stabbed- it's funny it took all of that to snap him out of that stupor...
A few things.
1.) I don't believe anyone could fight that well, and that long in real life.
2.) If I could, I'd be starting stih with people on purpose. IF you watch the Chappelle show, you know what I mean... It's be a scene from "When Keeping it Real, Goes Wrong...
________ had the choice to let Big-Hersh's comment go, or, he could keep it real...
________ chose to keep it real.
Little did ________ know that Big-Hersh was a 5th degree blackbelt, who started trouble just so he could test his martial art skill in street fighting scenarios.
The result was one of the most spectacular ***-whippings, ever witnessed in the Southwestern United States. Viewer discretion is advised...
When Keeping it Real Goes Wrong:
1.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpuyo2TYAzg ( PG-13 )
2.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-y4MJE3ZBA&NR=1 (Not work safe)
3.) I couldn't find the one I was REALLY looking for... The fight scene at the club...

They did edit that fight sequence. If you buy the directors edition of the movie, it will go over step by step just about every fight in the movie. I will agree this is one of the best fight movies ever. I've heard but not seen it for myself the movie Undisputed II: Last Man Standing has a phenomenal fight in it. It's one of the "straight to video" movies.
The entire movie is loosely based on reality since Tony Jaa & his family raise elephants. The Protector is a real title for a elite warrior in ancient Thailand.
The Jackie Chan guy in the movie is a look-a-like, not the actual article. It even lists him on the credits as "Jackie Chan Look-A-Like".
The martial art performed in the movie is primarily Muy Boran which is the precursor to modern Muy Thai. It is next to impossible to find a place to teach it since your student ARE GOING TO GET HURT. It's not a matter of when, it's a matter of how severe. Regular Muy Thai is pretty much the most brutal mainstream martial art & Muy Boran makes it look like high school wrestling. I've been taking Muy Thai for years & I still get hurt when I spar.

Yeah, no matter what fighting style one has, everybody's got an ***-whipping waiting around one corner or another. Not to mention the element of surprise...
I'd like to learn Krav Maga. I figure with my strength, and ability to take some hits, learning how to break somebod off properly with some nice moves and holds could be parlayed into an advantage that would help even more... Just in case.
