C5 Corvette

Looking at getting 2000-2004 C5 to have as a second car and keep longterm ...Anyone have any pros/cons on them...besides being a GM product...

Any info would be appreciated.

Especially if you had one and sold it recently, if you could tell me year, mileage and ballpark$$$

The only downside to a Vette is the initial cost and insurance...

well LS6>LS1 (Zo6 > reg c5)

dont get a vert

insurance is actually cheaper for someone 20-30 on a vette then on a camaro/trans am. B.c most average 20-30 year olds can't afford a vette

Thats all i can think of at the moment...

If you're unsure if you want a hardtop or a convertible, it doesn't matter. The hardtop will fly off eventually anyways... My uncle (by marriage, phew) had one, and lets just say that he was your typical Corvette driver.

C5's are great cars.... but they dont depriceate much at all... plus people dont use them as a daily driver... so the price stays up there... it might drop 10k off of sticker price...

if you can splurge get a new one (if you like that style) standard c6 vette comes out with 400hp... and if you need an adrenaline rush... get the Zo6...

505 HP...... you cant help but smile when u drive it..

we had a recall on our 06' Zo6 for the magnizium rooftop was leaking.... but luckly our vin number missed the recall.... id say if our roof came off the car would most likley pinch in the middle from no support

Although I had the OK from HQ to get one in 2003, I passed...

I was gonna get a silver (Pewter) c-5 Vette; automotic though...

30 days after opting to get the Expedition instead, we found out we had a baby coming, so the Vette would have been history anyway; but it would have been a fun 10 months!

Good luck with that C-5; I'm sure you'll love it!

Believe it or not, the c-6, though smaller in overall length, is actually roomier on the inside.

I sat in a 2007 ZO6 at the dealer, there was more room than I thought. Seemed like a race car inside, bad to the bone. Still thinking about a 68-72 someday instead though. Had a '72 back in the day it was a lot of fun.

I would love to have an old Vette, but I'd stuff a modern Vette drivetrain in it... because I could never afford one of the already fast Vettes...
