Design my boat name...
Design my boat name...
So I decided on the name for my boat and now I need to come up with the actual graphics. I want the name and some sort fo fish in the name as well, whether its before it, after it, going thru it..whatever. I'm not really looking for a "real" fish so to speak ( but if a real fish looks good, I'm open to suggestions ) but rather a cool, mean, cartoonish fish kind of like this one:

Not exactly that logo, but that style fish or something similar.
The boat name is Mor-A-Sea. It can be all capital letters or whatever looks good...
Show me what you got. I've got 2 days to get something hammered out so it can be printed up and put on the boat by the weekend.

Alright, fun stuff.
I'm gonna have to play with that when I get home, and see what kind of damage I can produce.
Anymore details to what you'd like to have in it?
I mean, something besides a picture of Steven Patrick Morrissey.
(The Smiths are cool)

Ok guys....I was in a hurry when I made this post today. I'm going crazy at work now. The sun came out and so did every boat owner in a 300 mile radius. I'm not complaining, because I love to be busy.
Anyway..
The finished "logo" so to say, will use a font thats about 7" tall and about 2' to 3' long depending on what the design actually looks like. I want it simple since it will be made out of vinyl. Thin lines, small pieces and the like will be easily blown off by waves or bumping the dock or anything like that. I've pretty much decided the words will be silver with a dark blue outline or shadow. like I said in my first post, I want the name with some sort of fish like the one I posted, the one that BalogUK used or if you check out Gloomis fishing gear, they have a pretty cool fish in their logo.
Any designs you guys can come up with are really appreciated. I've been trying to figure this out for over a week now and as with everything else I do...I'm driving myself crazy over it
Thanks guys..

Some important pieces of info will be,
1. Who is is cutting the design and what type of equipment do they have.
2. Who is going to install it? How experinced are they in vinyl graphic installation.
These 2 together will decide the level of complexity that can be used.
If the cuting equipment is old or cheap then layers are difficult and tolerances need to be larger for the sake of both the equipment and the installer. Great designs can still be done if the installer is good enough.
If it's newer, especially if it's a printer/cutter
, then the sky is the limit, it's open season, the design would be limited only by the designers own imagination and instalation is a breeze. Pretty much just measure, mark, place, peel and stick.
Get me that info and if I get off early enough tomarrow like I think, then I should have an hour or two to kick one out if no one else has.

Heres the best I can do right now as far as a picture goes. It's jammed in the shop getting worked on this week so I cant get any better pictures of it right now. The name will go on the side just under the center console and helm chair area.

The guy thats doing it has been doing this for a long time. It's what he does for a living and not just a weekend hobby. I'm not sure of all the equipment he has, but Im sure its the most up to date stuff. He told me today he just got a new embroidering machine so he can do nice shirts and all.
Although not one of the best web sites out there heres his http://www.enterprisegraphics.org/

Alright cool, he doesnt say on his site but his other designs indicate it's probably a printer/cutter.
Next question, (better to ask and be sure than assume and be wrong) it is going on the blue part of the hull, correct? Also that is still Blue and you plan on keeping it that. Right?
Edited to add:
One more question for now... whats you favorite type of fish to fish for?

Matt...yes, it will be going on the blue part of the hull. The hull is staying blue, however the bottom is now painted dark blue which matches the boot stripe and the canvas top.
The name was actually my idea. It was one of the first ones I came up with and kept it to myself for a while. When I asked everyone what they thought of all the names I was thinking of, everyone really liked this one. After a week of going over all the names everyone here suggested, Mor-A-Sea always made the top of the list...it's what most of my friends call me anyway, so people will know its my boat..
