You got a parking ticket when the car was at the shop?? I'd pay a visit to the shop owner, provide proof of when the car was in his facility and present him with a parking ticket to pay and the possibility of legal action against his shop for his employees joy riding in your vehicle

Thats what i am thinking too but i was wondering if any one has gone through something similar so i know what to say and such. I have my credit card statement with the payment on it from 2 days after the ticket, which was the day i picked it up.

Why are you wasting time on here? Get down there and raise some serious hell! I wouldn't let that sit! You need to let them know NOW!

I'd be asking for the ticket to be payed and part of the grand paid for work refunded.

Where was the ticket issued in relation to the shop? You also should call the court clerk and explain what's going on and ask them to defer payment of the fine till it's resolved.

When I was putting the new engine in the Explorer I got a parking ticket in the mail. It was in the garage with no engine when apparently I was parked overtime at a meter while I was at work 20 miles from there. I went down to their offices and raised hell. Turned out some *** wrote the plates down wrong, but even when they pulled up the photo they had of the violation and it was a Cavalier they still sent me the ticket made out for a 93 Explorer

Id be down at that shop and stick that ticket in the owners face.

I was selling a van for a friend and he called and asked if I'd taken his van up to San Francisco. He had recieved a ticket in the mail with his license plate number on the violation. The van had been parked inside my shop in So Cal the whole time we had it. He called and had the ticket reversed. I'd check first to see if the ticket was written wrong before going balistic. Just a thought, especially if your mechanic did a good job.
