It's been done. It takes some real driving skill to get a good time out of the SRT. The Lightning isn't exactly floor it and go; but, it's easier to drive than the SRT-10. You can beat them most of the time on the 1/4 mile track. They are faster from a roll on the top end, but not by much. Don't forget there is a weight difference to factor in here as well.

I'm gonna have to throw the BULL-SH*T! flag.

I've driven Lightnings a number of times...

Rode in one who's owner was putting it through its paces.

Floored them a number of times (2000 and a 2003 models).

Feathered, then floored them-

NEVER have I EVER seen a Lightning leap of the line like that... If that's a true video, then that Lightning was HEAVILY modified. 380 HP won't lauch a Lightning like that, 500 - 580 yes, but not 380...

Nobody said that video was a stock Lightning. Where did you read that?

I didn't... That's my point...

Once it's modified beyond what left the factory, all bets are off. You can make anything go fast. That is not the truck Ford built, that's a truck someone built. It is an anamoly... Although any "L" would be capable of that run with thesame mods, most cannot, and will not.

That said, although I can't STAND that supercharger whine, I'd take a Lightning over a regular cab Ram SRT-10 any day (City traffic). But, I'd take a crew-cab (Automatic) Ram SRT-10 over a Lightning anyday.

The weight would negate the extra power and the tranny might be suspect for handling the power and weight; but, it is a nicer ride with more room.
