It Just Blew.

So, I'm driving home about 2 hours ago, the snow is deep on the back roads but the interstate was just being plowed by a four truck plow train. i was following from a distance when i hear bang and i about spin out. my right rear tire blew violently. i guess the plow dropped or kicked up something.

I limped it 1/2 a mile to and exit where i could change the tire in safety. A fire chief followed with his lights on so no one would rear end me.

I learned two things.

1. the factory jack sucks

2. if you upgraded your tire size, upgrade the spare also.
Driving with one smaller tire on the rear really makes the truck pull and jerk.

So, tomorrow I'm going to get four new tires and keep one of the good ones on the truck now as the spare. then I'm off to sears to get a small floor jack to keep in the truck.
:santa:

sure do. thats why it was pulling. luckily the roads are snow covered so it shouldn't have caused a problem.

Ouch, glad youre okay. How much difference was there in tire size? Your limited slip might not be so limited nowadays.

Good to hear that you are safe and that is the most important thing.
