Not to get off topic D, but how do you like that BMW bike? I hear they're a blast. I just got back on a cruiser after a 4 year hiatus from motorcycles. Picked up a cheapo 2007 Honda Shadow Spirit VT750C2. It's nice, but it's no BMW.

Pfft, the whole point of the thread is to be off topic!

I love the bike. Now keep in mind its only the third bike I've ever ridden, the other two being a Buell Blast and Yamaha V-Star 650. Obviously it crushes both with ease.

I decided on the BMW for many reasons, but the most significant being the following:

1. Being freakishly tall the bike fits me well. Fantastic ergonomics.
2. ABS. Only a handful of bike makers have ABS, and only BMW has had standard on all roadbikes for many years now. Plus they are power breaks and can haul the bike down to a stop in the blink of an eye, and I never have to worry about lockups in panic situations. It rocks, and I feel safe.
3. The gizmos. Electronic suspension adjustment, trip computer, gps, cruise, heated everything, electronic windsheild, radio w/ CD... this bike is loaded with goodies. The bike is a great bang for the buck when compared to overpriced Harley touring bikes.

After a few thousand miles I'll say this: The RT has plenty of power. The little boxter pumps out around 105-110HP (can't recall exactly) and pulls harder and harder as the revs climb. I can't imagine what the K1200's can do with the extra 50-60HP. The bike feels soooooo light and responds to your thoughts... its wierd, its like you just think about the turn and it happens effortlessly. I am really looking forward to building my skills and finding a track to flog it on. Every review I've read says it can surpise some sportbike riders in the twisties. I'm looking forward to a long happy life with my RT. Well, until I get power hungry and have to get a K1200GT..

Next Thursday I'm off to Reno NV.

I'm just overpaid tech support, that's all. This isn't work related. However, I *might* go back to Vegas next month for a big convention.
If you go to the Moonlite Bunny Ranch (Like I would), say hello to the thick Italian girl for me.

Hersh you would have enjoyed the strippers at the bachelor party I was at. I was impressed when they brought out the double-sided **** and went at it. There was one other part of the night that was even more impressive but I don't want to get banned from the site...
