Test Drove 08 Superduty

Well today after work me and a coworker stopped by the local Ford dealership and saw they had 3 08's. Well we find one its a LAriat loaded for 53K F-250 4 door 4x4. So we fire it up and it is notciably quieter than the previos powerstokes. Interior is alot like the F-150 and the outside hasnt changed that much except the front. They have put the word "super duty" on every thing. Anyways I poped the hood and wow all you see is intercoolers and dual turbos you cant even see the engine almost. I would sure hate to work on it. So I take it for a spin and WOW this thing drives good alot like my F-150 and it is quiet. To me the power was maybe a tad faster than a 6.0 a tad not much difference except there is almost no turbo lag.By looking at the engine bay it seemed that they were running out of room with eveything like the batterys were sitting diagonal stuff like that its very clustered under there. All in all I think Ford did a good job and once again have a sharp looking truck "nothing like the 05-07's though" and awesome rideing truck. That said pending on the 09 F-150 my next truck is probaly gonna be a Superduty.Im just waiting to see how this 6.4L does.

That new 6.4 is supposed to be an awesome engine. I'd wait a few years too.

Agreed... The 6.0 was supposed to be an awesome engine too, but from what I read (on this site) that baby had more than a few Gremlins under the hood, compared to the 7.3L.

Might explain the jump to the 6.4, rather than retain the 6.0L.

We have had an 08 for about 2 months now. Its a pre-production model they sent us for testing. A fully loaded King Ranch. These are gonna be some mean trucks. Ford has already registered over 10 million testing miles on this motor. Some of those miles with the 6.4L mounted in some 07 chassis's. So Ford is making sure this motor is not a repeat of the 6.0L.
