If she is used to nothing, you are making a big mistake in changing her expectations. If you do this now, you will forever have to keep doing it. It's a bummer. You will save so much money, time and energy if you do nothing. Man, why do you want to disturb a good thing?

Canadian women must be different than American women! If I made a "venison anything" for my wife and tried to spin it as "romantic" I'd be calling the local Italian restaurant for reservations in about 15 seconds......

Maybe I'll just get some fresh pasta and make a spinach cheese pasta! I love that sort of thing with candles everywhere!!...I'll probably have to crack the window in the ice hut cause it will get hot in there.

I fish on Gull Lake, Kashagagwigamog Lake, Otter Lake, Big Trout Lake and Grass Lake.

Muskie fishing is awesome on Big Trout lake! Gull lake is great for Lake Trout!

Do you get up to central Ontario often??

I like your idea, here's another. . . Go to your local craft store and get a bunch of silk roses (generally less expensive than real). Remove all the petals and scatter a trail of petals from your front door to your bathroom (assuming you have a tub, not just a shower stall!) Fill the tub with a nicely scented bubble bath and light the room with dozens of candles. Have quiet music playing in the background, a bottle of champagne, a bowl of strawberries (if you can get fresh ones this time of year) and a nice box of chocolates. Guaranteed to melt her little heart!!
