Forever? I've never sold one of my vehicles. I still own the 1982 Audi I bought when I was 16....11 years ago.

I have all 4 cars/trucks I've paid for.

i got my 92 cherokee (first car) in '97 sold it to my brother in '05 when i bought my F150... i'll either keep this truck for a while & lift it next summer, or trade it in on a new F250/350 in a year or two...

I've had my truck for 2 years and 4 months. I would have sold it already, but I had to buy that pesky boat... It will be replaced by a Powerstroke with 6 speed sometime before 2008, so I will have had my truck for a total of 3 years +/-.

I will usually keep a vehicle 2-3 years, but my F-150 is my first brand new vehicle. I might not ever get rid of it. I guess I'll have to see just how good those 08' Super Duty's look. I didn't plan on buying this truck!

Ah...a question I have some experience with.
I have found that the level of maintenance I am willing to invest in has allowed me to keep a new vehicle for the 12-14 year range.

This is regardless of whether it is of US or foriegn make.

After 12-14 years I lose confidence in the vehicle as far as being a good investment for further maintenance.
This usually puts them at 160-190 thousand miles.

I currently have four vehicles with a total of 596,000 miles.
One of them is reaching the point where I doubt I'll invest further, I've had it 12 years.
