Want a DVD Player

Hi! I need some advice about selecting a DVD player suitable for my TV set. I I have a Samsung Model ST47W3PC I want to spend LESS THAN US$200.

This TV has 2 COMPONENT (480p, 1080i) Audio/video Input. Also has one Component (480i, 480p, 1080i)

Thanks for your suggestions.

Yamaha DV-S5950 Has Component and HDMI output if you upgrade later. It is also progressive scan which should improve the picture. Under $200.00

When we put together our new home theater, I spec'd in Sony's 400 DVD Megachanger, but it didn't work out, so I replaced it with a Sony single DVD player...and am very happy with it.

Gold standard for DVD players is Oppo. they have a couple models
at just under $200. You can also find some top of the line consumer models near $200 (Sony, Toshiba etc...) but they won't come close to the Oppo models.

Impresive! I like it, do you now if multiregion enabled? I need at least region 1 and 4.

Can you succesfully play back home made DVDs?

Thanks!

I read that Samsung 960 has good rating.

A friend of mine bought Samsung 860 and hes happy with it...he wish he got 960 cuz it has few more features but he dont mind.

model 860- 100.00 ish..

Model 960 - 130ish or more..
