The Good'ol Dayzee..

The thread about old gas prices made me think of doing this..

I graduated High School in 1976..
Dug out the yearbook and had a look at "what we pay now"

Ok in '76 we were paying..

6 Pack of Bud cans..$1.85..(no deposit)
Gasoline..53 cents /gallon for the Hi test..(The purple stuff..anyone remember real gas????)
56 cents full serve..

Pack of smokes..55-65 cents..
Ice skating at the rink..25 cents per hr..
Ice rentals by the hr. for "pick-up games"..$45
Bowling..60 cents / string..
Skiing passes..$8 weekdays..$10 weekends..
Movies at the cinema..$1.00
Large cheese pizza..$1.35
McDonalds Burger..30 cents..Big Mac 75 cents..Large Fries..55 cents..
Ice Cream cone..45 cents..
Pack of Wrigleys Gum..15 cents..
Postage stamp..13 cents..

Ahhh the good 'ol days..

...zap!

CRAP! I graduated for HS in '73---gas was about 40-some cents a gallon then. In '74, when the Arab Oil Embargo hit, people were outraged to pay 46 cents agallon.

Come to think of it, I did pay for things that I did wrong way back then, with spankings.

I was one year old, my biggest concern was making it to the bathroom.

Funny, thats also a concern now sometimes and is growing in frequency........
